Santander savings and investment

Hi, I'v been talking to a Santander financial advisor, we are looking at investing over a seven year period with moderate risk. However I'm a bit concerned about the fees involved. If we go ahead it will be £2,000 for putting everything in place then £450 every six months over the course of the investments, which seems a bit steep to me. Is this about par for the course? Any insight gratefully received.

The size of the investment is an important but absent piece of information here, but tied FAs aren't renowned for value for money.3

I would talk to a couple of Independent Financial Advisors and compare what they offering with the Santander FA. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Chances are that your Santander advisor is barely trained, inexperienced and will push products that earn Santander the most in fees.
It's fine to pay for advice and expertise but you need to pay for the best.
I agree with finding some IFAs. An IFA won't take you on as a customer if the fees would be too high as a proportion of your investment
