Ex company car driver car insurance

I've been driving a company car for the last 25 years and so have not had to take out any insurance.  I am now retiring and need to take out car insurance.  I can't get an NCB letter from my insurer as my company insured third party, although I do have a Driver History Letter from them.
How do I go about getting myself insured? I have looked at comparison websites but can't find anything specific to my requirements and I am at a bit of a loss.
Thanks in advance .

If you are looking at an aggregator site you normally are asked what NCD you have and then how you earned it and its there you can state its from a company car.

BEFORE buying the policy contact the relevant seller and check if your Driver History Letter from the employer will meet their requirements.

If you are otherwise a good risk NCD is a very modest discount these days, one poster reported it gave them a whole £5 off when quoting for 0 NCD or 25 years NCD but then the numbers they were talking were already below our minimum premium which may explain why it had such a small impact.

Ask whoever manages your company car scheme to provide a letter confirming that you have been insured by them with no claims for x years.  I had to do that and the insurer was happy to accept the letter as evidence of NCD.
  • I am in the same situation. I have Company letter headed confirming 12 years No Claims and details of cars and policies, which insurer asked for and where up loaded to their relevant site (Aviva). Then after 10 days from the first upload to the final on 2 days ago. They state today they do not recognise a Company Car NCD and advise an increase in premium of £405 effectively x2. So not sure on comment 0 NCD or 25yrs NCD. It seems crazy there is no clear policy from insurers on this subject.
