Hi I’m new. I have a water leak in attic coming through to bedroom ceiling. The water pipe going into water tank is dripping. Had to cut the water supply off in case ceiling come through. Have had no heat or water since 29th Dec and I am my Mum’s (84y and disabled) sole carer!!! 3 plumbers have attended and said water tank is asbestos and insurance company NOW after 3 weeks say the tank is not covered. They can’t fix the broken pipe bc it’s attached to the said tank (at the join) and plumbers won’t touch it in case they disturb the asbestos. How can insurers say it’s not covered?? Any help and advice please

Have a read through your policy document in particular the exclusions and see what is not covered...and also what is covered. That will best tell you but do read them 'interpreting ' what the wording might mean rather than just what you might think it means.Anything unclear post back with the actual wording and the context.0

Any help and advice pleaseIs it possible for a new tank to be installed and pipe work connected up. This can be done by cutting the pipes some distance from the asbestos tank, Then just leave the old asbestos tank in the loft. Can you please explain what reasons your insurance company gave for refusing the claim. Was this a gradual leak that just got worse? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
