Pet insurance Petplan v many pets v other

Petplan increasing their premiums 20% yet again this year, too much for us. I’ve heard good things about many pets insurance, has anyone got experiences with them? Or other who stand up to petplans offering (appreciate it will not be quite as good) at a slightly more affordable cost?

For info 2 domestic shorthair cats, Petplan want £86 a month - been rising 20% year on year now for a while

PetPlan's main thing is that they won't consider claims history in pricing, it's almost unique. Everyone else will spike premiums after a claim but at that point you pretty much can't go elsewhere as whatever the claim was for will become an excluded condition.

Agria have a similar promise but are also similarly priced

Can you move to a cheaper plan with Petplan?

if it is important that your vet claims direct, rather than you paying and claiming back, check  with your vet what companies they will direct claim from.

If you have any vet recorded pre existing conditions, whether vet treatment given or not, these will be excluded from any new policy.

I've been with Manypets for several years, some claims with my previous cat and had a good claims experience. No claims with my current cat, but as she is getting older the premium is rising. I tweaked it for the current year by accepting a larger co-payment, whick kept it under £25 pounds  monthly for an eight year old cat.

I will review when the policy is up for renewal. I probably won't switch from Manypets but might discontinue insurance altogether.
