@dp1 - so sorry to hear about little cat. Sending you hugs from California.13

Good morning
A chilly start here, -2, but due to rise to 4 degrees.
An update on the fridge, DH followed instructions on t'internet and it appears to be working. Will see how it goes, if we need to get a new one they still make the same model (it's 8 years old), and matches the freezer. Time will tell.
Laundry to catch up on, isn't there always? Chicken for dinner.
Gers, I hope Lionel is as comfortable as they can make him. I bet he'll be pleased to see you.
Have a good day all, take care.11 -
Morning all, it's back to cold and frosty here with lots of people scraping their windscreens this morning.
Our sm delivery arrived late but they did let us know they had a problem with the van. I did a load in the wm so it should be dry and ready to put away later.
Today we are taking Dad's shopping up for him but we need to collect some meds from the pharmacy for Mr Fix It first so we'll detour via the village.
dp1 sorry to hear about your little cat.
Gers such sad news of Lionel, hope you can get to visit him.
Scarlet hope your appointment goes smoothly.
Take care all, stay safe and warm.

Morning all from frosty and foggy Mehefinland
Another disturbed sleep - can't put a finger on it for sure. Result-slept through the alarm as woke with a start!1 Heavy overnight frost and fog came in as I was up the field - it just sort of appeared - quite eerie. It must have been cold last night as Showman's rug ( which had come in wet yesterday) was as stiff as a board. He was not impressed when I went to put it on him this morning.
Foot share later ,so that will pass a little time
Our by-election takes place tomorrow. The returning officer rang me about accessing the library and what facilities were there etc. It's a different person this time, so I had to go through it all again. They want access from 0620 tomorrow! I'm glad one of the other trustees volunteered to open up, although they have my number for emergencies. It will be a long day!
The sun is trying to break through as I type this, unsuccessfully so far, but the sky is brighter.
Hugs and spoons as always, keep warm and safe.

Morning everyone
Thanks for all the sympathy for little cat - I've just paid the bill for her cremation, £45....I don't think it's gone up since the last one I paid, a couple of years ago.
I didn't feel well yesterday and today I've woken up full of cold, which is a nuisance as I must go for some shopping, I'll put a mask on. I made some very nice leek and potato soup yesterday, I'll drop some off with mam and dad and have a quick cuppa...I'll sit across the room and shout! I wouldn't go, but I haven't been since last week, with dad having his upset stomach, which seems to be better now.
I've put my bedding in to wash, I woke up sweating a couple of times during the night.
Gers, I'm so sorry to hear about Lionel, hoping he gets prompt treatment and at least he has a proper bed now. He'll be pleased to see you.
Right, must get moving...hope everyone has a good day x

Morning all, thanks for the start @Scarlet. I hope your routine blood test results will be good ones.
The gritter went down the road last night so I wasn't surprised to see frost this morning. It's bright and sunny for now, cloudier later this afternoon. Yesterday's weather turned out better than expected but I still didn't get out to the shop because, after a midday nana nap, I just couldn't be bothered.
Wherever my get up and go has gone, I wish it would come back!
Instead I made the fatal mistake of indulging in a bit of web browsing and now have a pair of shoes and a pair of sandals on order. Half price in the Hotter sale and with a 20% voucher code too, so not to be sneezed at.
I've also cleared my TV streaming list of programmes I've watched and was amused to see just how many historical dramas there were. I think they were probably all repeats but I missed them first time around as they weren't to DH's taste. Not that either of us watched a great deal of TV but we always tried to find something we could both enjoy.
Today I have the change over of my gas meter to look forward to. It's supposed to be an afternoon appointment but I'm prepared just in case the chap comes early. DS is going to call in at some point on his way for a hospital appointment. He's been discharged from the care of Cardiology now that his heart medication has settled down, but the Lipid clinic is still calling him in at intervals. So, will I make it to the shop today? Unlikely, but we'll see. Tea tonight is fishcake, peas & sweetcorn and a side of orzo pasta salad that I made yesterday.
@Ruby - Have a good day with your new chap. Quite a few people have mentioned not being able to get a shopping delivery slot - everyone must be running out of the fresh stuff.
@Gers - So sorry to hear it's not good news for Lionel but at least he's in the system now and I'm sure he'll appreciate a visit from you.
@Chrisca - It's not just January that drags, February does too. Roll on Spring.
@Coxy - I hate having my photograph taken so you have my sympathies today!
@remmie - Well done to your DH for the fridge repair, let's hope it keeps chugging on a while longer.
@dp1 - Oh dear, another one of our ranks smitten by the cold virus. Take care and apply some TLC!
Time to make a move before time runs away with itself. Have the best day you can, stay warm and take care. XXBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
