I usually use WhatsApp to call my friend in Uganda but the government has turned off the internet from 6pm their time today because of the Presidential Elections. There's already been trouble and deaths. It's off for 5 days in Kampala and 2 months where my friend lives.
I only have a mobile and so does my Ugandan friend. What's the cheapest way to ring him using the telephone system only - unless you know another way?

You will basically need to use a VOIP provider, with them having no Internet the free app to app option won't be there but you can call normal phones anywhere in the world too for a fee.rarees1 said:I usually use WhatsApp to call my friend in Uganda but the government has turned off the internet from 6pm their time today because of the Presidential Elections. My normal provider isnt great for Uganda at 77p/min but a google shows some others at 25p/min. Alternative a Lebara sim gets you 35p/min0 -
Only service I've used (since the passing of Skype) is Rebtel, worked fine (but I can't vouch for service to Uganda).
Check the cost is acceptable - there are ALWAYS cheaper options, some of them might even work.
Good luck to you and your friend.0
