Evri have lost the Vinted parcel I dropped off.....

Hi.

New to Vinted & not sure what happens next?

Recently I sold an item on Vinted, the parcel was collected by the courier from the Evri shop, their online tracking shows it is being processed at their hub.
The tracking has not updated for 15 days.

I contacted Evri who after three emails have said "it is potentially lost in our network"

I think the buyer will receive a refund at some point, which is fine.
The buyer is being lovely & understanding & will put a claim in with Vinted for a "lost Item"

My question is how do I get compensation for the lost item that sold for just over £30?
Do Evri or Vinted refund me as I won't be receiving the payment?

Just not sure what happens, as I won't receive payment & I don't have the item either.

Thank you in advance to anyone that can help me.

You will have to wait for Evri to confirm it lost first. Did you post through vinted?

    Thank you Elsien.

Yes I used an Evri label generated from Vinted.

Many thanks for the link, I had looked on the help pages on Vinted but didn't see this.

I think I have to wait 30 days for the parcel to be confirmed as lost.

    Thanks again x

It may be worth chasing it with Evri directly.  I did for a parcel recently, not expecting anything but it took me all of about two minutes.  The headline tracking said they'd attempted delivery but in fact it hadn't been collected from the locker, so that may actually have made it easier to locate to be fair, but a human did take charge of the case and it ended up being delivered in the end.  So, nothing to lose just by trying.

I wouldn’t bother dealing with with Evri as Vinted paid for the label and have the contract, this is not something you sent privately . What should happen is that after a certain period of time , as shown in your message thread, the item will be declared lost. Buyer then gets a full refund and your funds are released to you.

There are arguments about this on Vinted groups as a lot of sellers misunderstand what has happened as Vinted use very poor wording. They tell you buyer has a refund but don’t bother saying you get compensation, however if you check your funds the released funds show in your available to withdraw as ‘compensation’.

EDIT just checked my Vinted, there will definitely be a date in message thread, I’ve one looking like it’s lost from December that is due for compensation in a couple of weeks. Also checking my funds page shows all the lost ones as paying out compensation .

I was actually the buyer and it was an eBay simple delivery item so I didn't have a contract with them at all, which is one reason I was so surprised they investigated and found it for me!

    Thank you for your replies.
I suppose it's just a case of waiting until the date on Vinted before anything more can happen.

I'm happy that my buyer will get a refund, I was concerned how or who would be compensating me for the loss of my £30 item.
I couldn't find anything on the Vinted help section.

You've all been a great help.

    Thank you so much

Do check your message thread as that does show the compensation you’ll be paid and the time frame the buyer has to confirm they have an issue. The time frame is long, usually 4-6 weeks from purchase.

Thank you everyone for your help.

Buyer has received a refund & I have received compensation from Vinted for the lost parcel.

It was a simple process in the end, just had to wait 30 working days to confirm parcel was lost.
