POPLA refused to reinstate appeal after 1-digit typo – Help needed!

Hi @Coupon-mad,forum experts,
I need help getting POPLA to reinstate an appeal they’ve "withdrawn" over a minor clerical error.
The Facts:
I appealed to POPLA on Dec 18th (well within time). As Met Parking rejected my appeal on 2nd December.
I made a 1-digit typo in the code (368 instead of 386). The portal accepted it and gave me a Successful Submission receipt.
My data sat with the wrong company (Local Parking Management) for 19 days before they told POPLA.
On Jan 6th, the wrong company actually gave POPLA the correct code for MET Parking.
Despite this, Stuart at POPLA has refused to reinstate the appeal and says I have to go to Court.
They are refusing to fix a simple keying error, even though they have the correct code in their hands. What can I do to force a reinstatement?
Also Popla have said you verified details are correct by ticking box.
Now got final letter from MET Parking asking for payment.
Can you advise what are my options please.

await a letter of claim from DCB legal.4

POPLA cannot say "you have to go to court"! POPLA decisions are not binding on the motorist. What does the letter from MET say? It's probably just standard following a POPLA fail. Of course you don't pay but wait for a Letter before/of Claim and then the N1SDT claim form. All info and advice is in the NEWBIE sticky4

You are concentrating on POPLA which is staffed by halfwits anyway rather than your actual issue the parking charge, which you haven't told us about.POPLA would most likely have dismissed your appeal anyway, and they were not obliged to address your POPLA code keying error, not that they matter, the whole process is a sham.4

Thank you for replies.
Met parking gave me a the ticket at McDonald's saying I parked there and left the premises they took multiple pictures of my vehicle parked over 5-6 minutes timeline and not one of me leaving the premises. They filled out a an inspection sheet of restaurant asking customers and checking all toilets accompanied by a McDonald's employee and couldn't find the owner. (I was only there 10mins) I asked for proof of me leaving but they only supplied a copy of the inspection sheet no photo of me
Now the letter received says, as I never appealed to POPLA after rejection and timeframe is out. I need to pay £100 a certain date .

Relax. Defend any court claim and deny leaving the premises. They have no evidence so their claim will fail. Not that it matters because they usually use bulk litigators DCB Legal who will always discontinue the claim.McDonald's employees or their "evidence" is irrelevant. They wouldn't be the ones making the court claim (what kind of Gestapo operated branch is this anyway?!)
Search Joe Lycett and Met Parking as well. They have a few honeytrap sites.4 -

That old chestnut! See this from 2014:

Await the Claim Form. That commences the easy end game (far easier than POPLA) where the case will end up discontinued.

This is a well known add on scam, they won't have any evidence anyone left site as already stated, and do you really think that some dimwitted parking attendant goes around asking people for their car details while they are eating with their families or while they are in a toilet that can hardly fit two people in standing!Added to that what is the "site" there would need to be a plan of the site with signage stating you are leaving the site at this point, and if he was truly managing it he would stop anyone as they left and inform them they were breaking a contract not send them a fake invoice a week later!Just deny it and let the halfwits carry on wasting their time, and follow the advice given! If they submit any evidence of the signage plan they usually show a Google Earth plan with intended installation signage positions. In this case no doubt they will point out the no leaving site sign, but just look it is pointing the wrong way as you drive out of the drive through so you can't see it:Just a scam nothing else!

That sign isn't a contract of course, just a request.
Somebody could think that £60 in exchange for leaving the premises was a good deal of course and wish to pay, but there is no contract to make that happen on that sign.1
