Today's phone scam.

I received a call on my landline this morning. The guy greeted me by my name, then confirmed my postcode. Told me a call blocking device was going to be sent out to me within the next 3 days. The asked me to confirm I was the bill payer. All good up to now.
Then he said the price was reduced from £379 to £179.
At this point I realised it was a scam call and politely told him I didn't want it.
I can only assume he got the phone number, name and postcode from the phone book.
Just a warning if a caller knows your name, it's not necessarily a genuine call.
