Morning GERS and all to follow. I don't know what it's doing outside but, despite the increase in temps, I think a gloomy day is in store. Much like yesterday despite a snippet of sun at lunch time which gave me false hope!
I am lacking some GUAG just now and cant summon up any enthusiasm to do much. Probably the January Blues. But at least the ironing basket got emptied at last yesterday! Though not as much as I thought was in there, bare essentials only these days.
It's lunch day with DF today, if it happens! I await the early text confirming whether all is well down there!. I still need to go down into town today anyway as I have my meds to collect from B**ts. I might even have a wander round our much depleted town centre whilst out. I don't think I have been in there since before Christmas.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS( for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all x

Yes, still raining here though it's more of a trickle than a waterfall now. Yesterday I spent most of my day worrying about Lionel. The ambulance turned up 11 hours after the call, he was whisked away pretty quickly and then was in A&E until gone 10p.m. (last time I phoned). He was going to be admitted, thank goodness, to one of two wards, however, I've just phoned to find out that he's spent the night in the corridor! 😱Meanwhile I kept his family updated and sorted out access to L's flat for his cleaning company, thanks to his neighbour who holds keys and agreed the estimate from the shower installing company.Today will be less fraught. Lunch is chicken and veggies with a portion of soup. Nothing much else on my agenda. Hugs to all.13

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers. Glad that Lionel is in hospital but upsetting to know he was in a corridor for the night. Let’s hope he’s admitted to a ward soonest 🤞🏻 Good to know the cleaner and workforce can access his property to do what’s needed.I’ve been awake dozing since 4am. No idea why. DH is helping BIL with a job today and I’ve planned to visit the community allotment to help lay woodchip paths. We are due rain all morning so I will deploy my waterproof coat with hood. I have a haircut this afternoon that I’m looking forward to.I only worked for a couple of hours yesterday which meant I could get my sewing machine out to make a padded pouch for my shiny new laptop. All materials from my stash so zero cost. I’m no expert and it’s a bit wonky but it’s fine for just me!
I have an M&S return to drop off later than a couple of fresh veg bits to get. Dinner is prawn and chilli and linguine.Cross-stitch WIP: Haberdashery Shop Fiver Friday challenge 2026 founding member 😊 Read 26 books in 2026 1/26 Currently reading The Trial by Rob Rinder15 -

Morning all
I tossed and turned all night as well I don’t think I had more than a couple of hours sleep - today is going to be a long day! It’s pouring with rain here and meant to last all day I have two people coming and we are off to meet our friends and go to a museum, it’s much more difficult to entertain people in the rain.
Dinner tonight will be a fish finger sandwich with a few chips and salad nice and easy, I shall pop into M&S for a nice loaf while we are out, I need to get some more bedtime herbal tea too.
Poor Lionel I hope they find him a bed asap xx
Have good days all and take care xx13 -
Good morning everyone and thank you for the start Gers.
Hope that they find a bed soon for poor Lionel.
It's very dark and gloomy here with rain forecast for much of the day so I think it will be a day to catch up with jobs indoors.
I am feeling quite pleased with myself at the moment. My late husband was a very keen and successful gardener and I have tried over the last two years to have a good display in the garden. However, I bring the kiss of death to houseplants so when I was given an Amaryllis plant at Christmas 2024 I feared the worst. Somehow it managed to thrive despite having me as it's carer and was a mass of beautiful blooms. After dying back and being ignored by me, I have repotted it and there are 3 healthy looking leaves sprouting so I hope that I may have performed a minor miracle but I'm not cracking open the champagne yet!
Thoughts are with the sad, lonely or poorlies
Take care x11 -
Morning all from dull and damp Mehefinland - think there's a theme going on here.
Another one who couldn't sleep - think I was still going over the new music we did in choir last night, and some of the old stuff I know by heart anyway.
Picked up another carrier bag full of cans and bottles yesterday afternoon on my wanderings. It amazes me where the stuff comes from, although by the state of some bits it had been lurking in the undergrowth for a while. I know I will never win the war, but I'm going to have a damn good go at the battles lol All into the recycling bags which were collected early this week
Otherwise a bit of a same old sort of day. My friend called in with her new rescue dog which she had brought back from Spain-a lovely GSD !!!!!! who proceeded to make herself very much at home
. She may have to come to stay with me for a few days in March so its good to start the familiarisation process early. So far all ok, The key time will be when Mum leaves her with me for a bit but that's a bit away yet.
Need to take a library book back,so that's this morning's entertainment.
Hugs and spoons as always
Mehefin aka Derek
