Yes, it can still be tasted even after using a brita filter and chilled in the fridge. And yes I am happy to drink tap water in other people's houses when it doesn't taste like it's be poured out of the bottom of a rusty barrel. The stupid things you do, you regret... if you have any sense, and if you don't regret them, maybe you're stupid. - Katharine Hepburn0

Tesco do a 2 ltr bottle for 17p which is a bargain
or Aldi do pack of 4 x 2ltr bottles for about 99p
The water in our area is awful and bottled water is all that we drink now - we have tried using a water filter but we didnt like the chemically taste.
All we drink now is the Tesco 17p a bottle and all our bottles go to the recycling centre.
Hope this helps

Our's has an orange residue too. It builds up very quickly on tile grouting and has to be removed weekly. I think the orange is related to the iron content in the water, not necessarily a bad thing as iron itself is very good for energy and hair growth. But it's emerging murky from the taps? That's horrid, I've heard of that before, my aunt has had that and their water board took an age to sort it out.
Unfortunately our plastic shower base just loves to cling to the orange color meaning we have to scrub it with bleach every week, ordinary cleaners don't shift it.The stupid things you do, you regret... if you have any sense, and if you don't regret them, maybe you're stupid. - Katharine Hepburn0 -
The filters can remove the good mineral content that are esential to our health as well as the nasties. They don't differentiate very well.0

Thank you to vickym and sleepymy. You make me feel like less of a money wasting health freak.0

Yeh, it has to be mineral water with a specified source.0

Buxton has a free spring in front of the Crescent if you really want mineral water.
Mineral water = water with pollutants, from a specified source, which if to be sold has to be cleaned of some of them, before being left to stagnate in a a plastic bottle with a label of a large international corporation on the front of it, before being driven to the other end of the country and left in a warehouse.
Cost of product at a guess is approx 80% advertising, 15% packaging and transport, 5% extraction and cleaning, raw materials 0% (it falls out of the sky).0 -
That's your opinion ScratchandSniff.
Yeah, yeah, I've read all the negatives and compared them with tap water. Blah de blah.
As the title of my post clearly states I'm only interested in the best deals on Evian or similar mineral waters. Debating the health benefits of mineral water vs tap water should be explored on the health board. I've explained my reasons for wanting to buy it.
I only want to read who is doing the best deal on delicious plastic infested Evian mineral water, driven miles owned by a huge conglomerate. I already do more than many for the help of the environment.0
