Somerfield has bogof on Evian Still Mineral Water £2.79 each, 4x75cl Pack. So you can get 8 bottles for £2.79. Hope that helps.

Bring your empty bottles around to my outside tap, you can help yourselves.. ;)
  • come to gloucester, I'm sure there are still hundreds of households that still have bottled water they'll probably happily sell you at a discount price!

Thanks for your amusing posts! Not much genuine help from anyone in the know though.

The only reason I want to buy it in bulk is because I am presuming that trade suppliers are only interested in selling at a minimum quantity in the same way that office trade suppliers will only sell paper/cartridges at a set quantity. They obviously don't want time wasting members of the public buying piddling (if you'll excuse the pun) quantities that add nothing to their profits.

I like the humour of the posts but seriously is there a money saving expert who has a firm idea of where I can buy this from?

I'm not stuck on the concept of Evian as a brand. I prefer it specifically because it has a higher calcium content and relatively low nitrates. Other brands with similar mineral contents would do just as well.

I don't want to get into a debate about tap water vs mineral water vs filtered water. Personally I hate the tap water in my area. I don't trust what the water boards tell us, they're just interested in making a profit and put the health of consumers at a minimum they have to by law. Every time I drink it I get a stomach ache and headache after a few days of consumption. I've chosen not to consume chlorinated water, I don't want to drink water that still contains the residue of hormones from the contraceptive pill (if I'm not on it) nor the residues of those poor souls that have had radiation treatment nor the paint reminants that careless people have chucked down the drain. I know that they can filter it but not as well as we like to imagine and the clarity of the water is merely a chemical salt that's added to the muddy water to make it look clear.

Mineral water has it's disadvantages too with the plastic being a prime concern not to mention the expense but it's a choice I've made.

Perhaps I'm just a mineral water duped fool, so just humour me and tell me who does it cheapest pretty please! They must be a few restaurant owners out there who could tell me or privately mail me.

    Thanks to all the experts!

Take the word evian and spell it backwards. That's what people are that insist on buying bottled water. Do you people not have taps in your house?

    LOL.

Time will tell, how do you suppose they filter chemotherapy residues from the tap water?

The tap water in my area is disgusting, it's slightly orange colored and the metallic flavor can be tasted through cordial. Well done for those lucky enough to have decent water, some of us don't have a choice.

Good luck OP, I don't find Macro much cheaper than the supermarket offers.

Glad you can share my sentiment.

Our's has an orange residue too. It builds up very quickly on tile grouting and has to be removed weekly. I think the orange is related to the iron content in the water, not necessarily a bad thing as iron itself is very good for energy and hair growth. But it's emerging murky from the taps? That's horrid, I've heard of that before, my aunt has had that and their water board took an age to sort it out.
