Outfox Energy SMETS1 Smart Meter Compatibility?

Maybe via the electric if smets1 gas work same way as smets2 - via the comms hub on the electric meter - or do they communicate directly ?
My liberty smets1by EOn was supposedly also directly readable by Octopus prior to it's DCC integration - but they didn't support my split E10 tariff alcs timings - so didnt switch to their E7.
