3 months insurance
I need to insure my car (Skoda Yeti) for three months, before I emigrate. But despite searching, cannot find a firm who offers this service. Has anyone any experience or advice in this please?
Many thanks in advance

Insure it for the year, then cancel. Consider cancellation costs when you take the policy out...3

If you search for "Temporary Car Insurance" there are plenty of firms who offer this service. In my experience, most of them have a maximum of 30 days' cover, but there may be some who do it for longer. But you could potentially take out one policy for 30 days, then take out another one when that expires. It'll come down to cost though. As the previous poster says, it may be better to take a standard 1-year policy then cancel it when you no longer need it. But do make sure you read the small print and fully understand what the cancellation fee will be.Either way, there's no harm in going to any of the price comparison sites and seeing which approach would work out cheapest overall.0

There are few that charge additional costs for cancellation of "the loan", the only ones I know that do are actually when it is a real loan because a broker uses the likes of Premium Credit rather than funding it themselves.born_again said:

APRs can be very high so there are other good reasons to pay it in one rather than by "loan" but there are some that offer 0% and thats not directly relevant to a annual policy that will be cancelled early.0 -
I had the same issue when I inherited a house and needed to insure it for a few months while going through probate and the house sale. It is a not an uncommon situation, phone around insurance companies and say you will soon be emigrating. The calltaker may have to refer to supervision, but they are unlikely to turn down the business. The likely option, as others mentioned, is to pay for 12 months insurance in advance and then cancel when no longer needed. You should get a refund less an admin/cancellation fee -assuming you haven't made a claim (carefully check the terms and conditions).0
