Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet.
It's been a wet and windy weekend, yesterday's rain was really heavy, thought I was going to have to bring out the Ark again!
Lovely lunch at a friends with lots of good chat, shopping done on the way home. Cosied in after that and watched Call the Midwife - very comforting.
Washing was dried inside, all put away now. Floors mopped and bathrooms cleaned.
Hope everyone is well and you all have a good week. Take care. XX12 -
Morning again, it's damp here. By early evening yesterday all the snow and ice had disappeared! It's not as cold today, what a relief to have a break from sub zero temps and slippery pavements.
Ds and dil called in yesterday, they'd come over to bring some wood that dh had asked ds to get. They stayed for a while and had a light lunch with us, they were going to Sains so I went with them and got a few things.
YorksLass, I've got 4 plastic files stuffed with recipes that I've collected over the years, and, like you, I went through them recently and pruned them severely. When I was looking at some of the recipes I was wondering when I had thought I was ever going to make them! Some of it was fancy stuff that would cost a bomb to make now.
Camelot, hope your vintage teaset was nice.
Mehefin, it's good that your ds is keeping in touch - our dd lives 20 minutes walk away and we hardly ever see her. There haven't been any fallings out, she's just always too busy. We don't say anything, but it would be nice to see her a bit more often.
Not a lot going on today, just household stuff, I might nip out for bread and milk. I forgot to get them at Sains yesterday.
Hope everybody is all right and has good days. Take care folks.

Morning all, thanks for the start @Scarlet.Once I went downstairs yesterday morning I immediately made the soup before being distracted. The weather turned horrendous again, the rain became biblical, roads flooded, another landslip or two and much disruption. I didn't put even my nose outside.Later on I became very worried about Lionel, his symptoms were worsening. I phoned a friend who is a paramedic, described what was going on, he then strongly advised that an ambulance was called. Well...it took Lionel almost three hours of faffing around to do this ( he has always been a ditherer and fussed) whilst I fretted from afar. Then I got really cross again so he stopped 'resting on the bed for a few minutes' and finally phoned at 10.00p.m. I don't know where he is just now - I'll wait another couple of hours before phoning his landline, I've sent a text to his mobile though I'm not confident about him having it on!Not much planned apart from unnecessary fretting. I have been given a list of people to phone if L is in hospital. Weekly banking is to be done. No exercise class as the leader is away on holiday. I have a head cold which I really wish would come down. Whilst the torrential rain may have stopped we now have a wind event so I'm staying put again.I hope that everyone is safe and dry. Hugs to all.13

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET for the start. Yes it's lovely to get up to no sign of snow or ice! Yesterday's snow finally got washed away, thanks to heavy rain, late afternoon.
I should take advantage of the mild day and defrost the freezer as, before long, I won't be able to shut the door. I only tidied it out last week and already the messer upper has been at it with stuff just shoved anywhere. And there is still the ironing basket to deal with as I keep avoiding looking at it.
Have a lovely day if you can folks with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
A huge amount of rain late yesterday has washed away most of the way even though I had to make a snow bank in the middle of the drive to free both vehicles.I’m invigilating this morning and have to take Bdog to be weighed this afternoon.

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers. Worrying about Lionel - let’s hope you hear some positive news this morning x Hope you feel better soon too x
I’m working today and will go into the office which is a short drive down the lane - more for the social interaction than necessity really. I’m attending a yoga class this evening so I need to sort out a blanket and cosy top for the relaxing end session. I forgot these last time and felt it!
Dinner for me is LO pasta from Saturday as I’ll need to eat early. The family will have a chicken Alfredo courtesy of DS2.Have a good day everyone

Milder here too but with drizzle again yesterday the rain got torrential in the evening, I cooked a roast dinner and delivered one to mum so that will have saved her cooking. I’m off to hers today to do some work.
Dinner tonight will be a chicken curry, I’ve only got a small amount of chicken so will bulk it out with mushrooms we will have rice and naan bread with it.
Gers I hope Lionel is ok xx
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Good morning
Thank you for the start @ScarletRibbons
Meant to be warmer but it still feels very cold to me.
I was going to continue sorting the kitchen cupboards yesterday but when I was putting the clean laundry away I ended up tidying the drawers in the bedroom.
@Gers hope you feel better soon and hear good news from Lionel soon
Cooked too much yesterday, still find cooking for one difficult, so will eat the rest today.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.12
