    Quite surprised at some of the comments on here, I think it's profiteering hiking something up nearly double no matter what it is and that was the point I was trying to get over.

    Distasteful as it may be to you that where you normally buy that item has gone up so much the onus is on you as a customer to make sure of getting the best deal. Either by changing product or shopping elsewhere.

    I would imagine if the supermarket sees a large percentage drop in sales with that item they will reconsider price increase.

    Especially if they are getting near the end of their shelf life.

  • Asda is quite competitive comparing to other supermarkets. It's not even essential, can't you switch to another beer?

    I quite like Banks and always buy a couple of bottles if I am in Aldi. I never drink in pubs now as they are so expensive.
