EBay Purchase - Evri say delivered, collection point says not!

A recent purchased a hairdryer on EBay. I received a message to say it was ready for collection from my local Evri Parcelshop on Monday 5 January. Tracking showed it as delivered at 15.34pm.
I visited the parcelshop, which I use regularly on Tuesday 6th to find there was no item there for me. The shopkeeper (who knows me by name) showed me his PDA which stated that there were no parcels waiting for collection for me.
I visited again on Wednesday and Thursday to find the same thing. The shopkeeper said I should start a claim as it wasn’t likely to appear now and that this had happened to a few of his customers in recent days. I contacted the seller and explained.
Yesterday I made a claim through eBay who declined the request as the Seller had evidence that the package had been delivered. The buyer has said that if the item somehow gets returned to them they will contact me and send by a different method, but right now I have no hairdryer and am £50 out of pocket. I’m still getting daily reminders to collect the item, but don’t understand how it would be returned to the seller if I can’t as it’s not there, as Evri don’t seem to know where it it and it definitely isn’t at the parcelshop.
Can anyone advise how I could/should proceed from here please?

Get the seller to chase it up with Evri given that they contracted them? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
I had a similar experience with an Ebay delivery to a pickup location with Royal Mail.
I had a Royal Mail notification that it had been delivered, with a map screenshot, but nothing from Ebay to say it was ready to pick up.
I left it a day then went to the location and they said there was nothing there. They then asked for my name and found the parcel but they were reluctant to give it to me as it appears hadn't been scanned in properly so they were not going to get paid. However as I could show them the Royal Mail notification and my ID they did then just hand it to me.

Can you get the Seller to look at his evidence to see which Parcel Pickup Point the parcel was delivered to?0

Thanks for your help. I’ll ask the seller to pick up with Evri (she has been very understanding and helpful) as there will be no evidence with them that the parcel was scanned in at the shop or collected by me because neither happened, and I’ll also asked her to check if her tracking shows which store it shows as delivered to. There is only one Evri shop in our village, but worth checking it wasn’t somewhere else.0

Check the delivery GPS and photos using the tracking. eBay, if pushed and tracking isn't spot-on, will refund your payment; if not, open a bank claim against the payment. Hermes don't really care. Until eBay investigate an issue.0

This is an Evri package; there are no photos or GPS shown in my tracking. The name/address of the store isn’t shown either, though the messages telling me it was ready to collect showed the correct address.I guess I’ll have to wait and see if it gets returned to the seller from wherever is is after 15th January and then contact my credit card issuer if not. So frustrating!0

I would open a case and contact the seller to chase up Evri. Well they will have no option other than to establish what has happened and if it's been misplaced. But stick to your guns and see what happens.
Are you also just looking at eBay tracking or Evri website tracking? Follow my parcel's journey by adding the postcode.0 -
EBay rejected my case a s’the seller has “confirmation of delivery”. The seller is trying to open a case with Evri and has been helpful. Will update with any progress.0

You should be able to see some tracking details with the tracking number on Evri's site. But possibly not as much info as Royal Mail gives.
Regardless, it's good the seller is being helpful.0
