Good morning @ScarletRibbons and thanks for the start today xx
I’m off to Sainsbobs early doors as DH and I have a meeting at the community allotment at 11am. I need to be back, unpacked and changed before then. Have decided to have the second of our boneless turkey joints tomorrow so that is out defrosting. It’s pasta with courgettes, Parma ham and mushrooms this evening. We had a family games night last night - 2 games each of Rummikub and Scrabble. Very funny and meant the 20-somethings didn’t disappear after dinner as per usual. I’d left home at their age but it’s not so easy now unfortunately.Have a good day everyone

Morning all
It’s another chilly start here.Yesterday was unpleasant, rained most of the day. We ended up with c4inches of snow but it was heavy and soon turned to slush. I tackled the drive with a little help from NdN when he finished work - took a couple of hours and was sore-back inducing.DM has to be at the oncology centre for 10am for a blood transfusion so a car defrost and check of the lane outside and we should be ok.I’m just hoping it’s warmer over the weekend as there is now a 3ft pile of snow in front of my van - there was nowhere else to pile it and I need to go out on Monday 😂
Today will be dog walking, bread making, soup making and floor steaming with hopefully some craft thrown in later.Hope everyone survived the storm and after effects.Watch that ice if you’re out and about.AA15 -
Morning again.
We have a thin covering of snow here, more is expected I think.
It rained yesterday but we're in North Durham so didn't have the terrible weather that some have had.
Hi Topsy, good to hear from you! Hope you're ok.
Pleased that your DD was approved for fostering Dp1.
Also pleased for Ruby, good luck in your new job.
Sorry things didn't work out for you on the dating front Mehefin, but good on you for trying.
Hope you enjoyed your meet up with your nephew Gers.
I remember Speky, he sounded to be a nice chap.
I was going to mention others, but of course I've forgotten who did what, sorry, that's no reflection on anyone but me and my dopeyness. I'll have to start making notes.
Anyway, I'll stop burbling on and wish everyone a happy Saturday, take care folks.13 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Another below freezing start this morning and not forecast to get much warmer. Then we have the pleasure of snow overnight and tomorrow, before it gets a bit milder next week.
Sainsbobs for me too this morning DS reckons it will be about 10.00 but any time ok for me. Not a very long list and definitely nothing for the freezer. Absolutely no space at all now I have combined both freezers into one. It's now my mission to eat from it for a while instead of just hoarding food and buying more!
Surprise visit from DD yesterday and she actually had time to sit down!. She only lives just down the road but it's usually just a quick dash in saying she hasn't time to stop! But I understand as she is usually dashing from one of her jobs to another. As well as her job at the Hospice she has home visits to a couple of elderlies as well a few times a week.
I now have a little job to do! I couldn't open the back blind this morning so I need to bring the little steps in and see what's stopping it. Me and steps are not a safe combination!
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad, lonely or just fed up. Take care all, be safe xx

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, hope you don't get too much snow.
It's fairly bright here this morning with a little blue sky, yesterday was very miserable, cold and grey with some drizzle thrown in. I had to go out last night for HT's leaving do and it was so cold! Lovely evening at a mexican place, I declined the offer of going on to a bar later, a few of us got the train home after the meal.
Pleased to hear DD has passed all checks dp1.
Great you are being offered more hours Coxy.
Stay away from the ladder TA!
Shame about the text Mehefin.
So pleased everything went well Ruby.
Nothing planned for today so will see what happens. Happy Saturday! Take care. XX13 -
Good morning
Thank you for the start @ScarletRibbons
Still no snow here but it's so cold and the wind was horrendous.
@Gers hope you had a good time with your nephew
I remember Speky and his Gran, seemed a lovely chap, hope he found happiness.
@TA please be careful on the steps, can't your DS help?
Well done dp1's daughter for being approved for fostering
@Ruby you do such amazing work, pleased it's working out with your new chap.
@mehefin sorry to hear about the text.
Take care

Morning all, I didn't sleep well last night, so I feel jaded today. Yesterday I tried juggling with a soup bowl which I knocked off the worktop, I failed and it shattered so the kitchen floor had to have a good clean. Luckily I hadn't filled it with soup but I didn't realise crockery shards could go so far ! Now I'll have to buy another one to make up the set, it's only a deep white one so it should be easy to replace.
It's another very cold morning, I'll be glad when this cold snap is over. Today I have some mince beef to slow cook, we'll have half with pasta and the other half will go in the freezer. The dw needs emptying first though, as I didn't do it last night.
RedRuby I'm glad it went well with your new man.
TA please be careful when you're on the steps.
AA I hope you can get your DM to her transfusion. 🤞
Have a good day all, stay safe and warm.
