Online store offering Store Credit refunds after 14 days, legal?

I ordered a coat from Sisterhood on the 01/12/2025, I received my order on the 05/12/2025. I tried it on and it didn’t fit so I decided to return it. I registered my return on 18/12/2025 and sent it on the 19/12/2025.

Their returns policy is pasted below:

“RETURNS POLICY

If any of your items aren’t quite right, you have 14 days from the day you receive them to return full priced items for a refund. Please see further down for the return of Sale items. 

The return package must be postmarked within 14 days from the date you received it to be eligible for a full refund. All items must also be returned in original condition with all original tags attached and packaging included. Any items that are returned with signs of being worn (including smelling of perfume or with make-up marks from trying on), without tags or sent back outside of the 14 day period, will not be accepted for a refund and will be returned to the customer upon inspection. 

If items are postmarked after the 14 days but within 30 days, we will grant store credit via gift card.Any returns postmarked after 30 days will not be accepted by our warehouse and will be returned directly to the customer without contact.

Sale items are strictly exchange or store credit only

Items purchased from our sale section which are marked down in price are strictly exchange or store credit only. This is due to the items being low inventory and discontinued styles. 
Any full priced items purchased with a temporary discount code are not classed as sale items.

Store credit is emailed as a Gift Card and will not expire until used.

If you wish to order more than one size of an item marked down on Sale, we will accept the return of one size for a full refund. If all sizes of the same item are sent back, one size will be accepted for refund and one will be issued with store credit via Gift Card.“

I’m hoping my date maths is correct and I’ll be given a full refund (still waiting), but after seeing ML update in December I’m wondering if their return policy falls inline with the CRA 2015/ Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Is anyone able to advise?

I will be chasing them up about my return payment, as their policy states it can take up to 10 working days to process.

Assuming this was online, you have from the moment you place the order until 14 days after receipt to cancel your purchase. Once youve notified them you are cancelling, you have 14 days to return the goods, and they then have 14 days to refund you, in full including standard delivery costs, in the same format you paid.

With receipt on 5th Dec, registering a return on 18th Dec still qualifies for a full refund.

For countries outside of the EU, any additional duties and taxes paid on your purchase at checkout are to a third party, and not charged directly by Sisterhood. These charges are non-refundable. However, you may be able to recover these by contacting your local customs office directly. Refunds apply to the original purchase price of the item only. 
We are not in the EU (now) But there is nothing to state the retailer is in the UK other than the below after searching.
