Hello,
In relation to a PCN from November 24. I was a visitor to a site and despite filling in the visitor's book, I received a PCN. Appealed it and heard nothing more. Nearly 12 months later start getting letters and I did my best to follow the advice in the newbies thread. It went to Money Claim Online and I filled out a defence. In short I was there selling poppies on behalf of the the RBL.
But now I get a letter telling me its going to mediation.
Can someone point me to any advice regarding mediation? Should I expect that it will have to go to court? Do the small claims mediators just want rid?
Thank you.

I’m sure the experts will be along shortly to advise you however ;
Have you got the original PCN ? If so edit all personal details and upload on here that way it’s clear who is chasing you and for what. Also did you reply to the PCN as the driver or the keeper (on the alleged breech)1 -
Thank you. No I didn't keep it because I thought my appeal had been accepted. It is Horizon Parking that issued the PCN. They have an online portal to appeal which I used to explain the the RK is my wife but I was the driver. I also explained I was there as a guest etc., I heard nothing until the recent letters and now the small small claims court notice.0

Sorry, I should probably also say that I cannot get back into my original appeal.0

mediation is just where t hey try and offer you a price to pay for it to go away - all explained in the newbies thread.
the court notice is for a perceived breach of contract - what site are we talking about?
have you approached the site to get them to get the pcn cancelled?2 -
The defence isn't in play until any future court hearing later this year, if it gets that far, it certainly hasn't failed because although it was logged its currently sat on the bench, unplayed
Mediation advice is in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum by coupon mad, plus the defence template thread too, usually nd and 3rd threads down from the top of the forum
In simple terms, its
"Hello, yes I confirm my details, I will not be making an offer, goodbye. ! Takes 5 minutes"
No discussion of the case ( offer £5 or £10 if you are minded to make an offer ? Or stand firm, " i will see them in court later this year" ( if they eventually pay the hearing fee. )
Presumably its Horizon Parking via Gladstones Solicitors, currently at the compulsory mediation stage2 -
What was the alleged breech ?Does the visitor book written entry allow you to park as you did.If so can you get a copy of it ?1

Thank you I'll try and find it.Gr1pr said:

I love that you're all so confident, I just feel sick with worry. I can see why people just give in.0 -
So this was a Tesco's near me. You're allowed two hours for free. I was going to be there for just over four hours and so you normally use an electronic visitors book You enter your reg and no PCN. I was there 2/11/24 and 3/11/24. On the first day the electronic thing was not working so I filled out a paper version as Tesco requested. The next day same thing but the electronic thing was working. PCN received for the first day but not for the second.
I have recently went in to Tesco and they agree that I shouldn't be charged and they were going to attempt to get it cancelled but they obviously have not been able to. They were worried it was too old.

The defence has NOT failed.
Edit the title its very misleading3 -
Your defence hasn't failed. Why do you think that? This is a standard process and you just follow the easy 8 steps in the Template Defence thread.
You should have complained to Tesco the minute your wife received the PCN, instead of appealing (which was pointless when done wrongly, as driver, which it sounds like you did).
Your wife would have won at appeal if you hadn't admitted to driving. Or Tesco would have easily cancelled it. Next time come here first. Every time.
Are you the Defendant? Not your wife?
If this is Gladstones for Horizon at Tesco, did you include in your defence, Chan and Akande?
Plus the fact that the PCN was £70 on the signs, not £80?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
