Give it a week and then phone PIP to check that it's been scanned and uploaded to your account?

Yes I think I will Robbie, once I know they have both been scanned & uploaded to my account then I can forget about it because I know it's probably going to be at least 6-8 weeks if I'm lucky and have a paper based one but I've seen people waiting 6 months plus

I just called the PIP helpline as it's two weeks since I sent the form in and just shy of that for the GP's letter. Both have been scanned to the computer 😀

She asked for the name of my GP practice because they don't have that I looked it up online while I was on the phone to her. She added that so I'm guessing that question must have been flagged up?

I asked what happens next to see what she says. She said that first it's looked at to see if they can make a decision, if not then it gets sent to the provider of health assessments. You will be contacted by them to have either a face to face appointment or a phone appointment. If it goes there it will be a long wait because there are huge backlogs. At the moment it's waiting to see if they can make a decision.

    🤞🤞🤞

Yes that's correct. ( they actually gave correct advice, I'm shocked) For PIP reviews the form is always sent to a decision maker first, from there they decide if a decision can be made without needing to send to the assessment providers.

In my daughters case I returned her form around 27th July and a couple of days ago received the decision letter dated 15th August, award stayed the same for 6 years.

    Thank you poppy,

I'm so pleased that your Daughter's award was done without the need for a health assessment & that it's been awarded for another 6 years. And thank you for telling me the time scale that's very helpful

I've just received a text message from DWP.

Your PIP review is complete. You should receive your decision letter in 2 weeks

    I've had a paper assessment 😁

I've put on there no change so hopefully the decision will be to keep me on the same amounts which is/was standard care enhanced mobility. The longest time they have given me before was the last one which was 6 years I'm hoping for a 10 year one especially as my GP without asking her put on the form that my College documented before in 2021 so hopefully they have got the hint 😏

So to answer my own question how long are reviews taking I posted my form on the 12th August delivered on the 13th of august & had the text saying the review is complete today 9th Sept exactly 4 weeks

That's another reason to pay extra to get the form there the next day because you can add another week on to the time scale to get the form there in the first place.

I'm three quarters there just need the letter to be 100% done with it again.

My ESA was awarded until 15th August 2022. What's the betting I get that one to do now

    Good news SB2!

You can view your latest PIP Statement of Entitlement through the GOV.UK portal though you do have to register.

    https://www.gov.uk/proof-benefits-state-pension

The Statement of Entitlement is included with your decision letter when you receive it but this is a quick way of viewing it. It shows what component part(s) of PIP you have been awarded plus the from and to dates.

    Well I've got the letter

I have looked at your PIP & decided

I can still award you Standard rate of £76.70 a week to help with your living needs from 8th Sept 2026 to 7th Sept 2023

I can still award you the enhanced rate of £80 a week to help with your mobility needs from 8th Sept 2026 to 7 Sept 2032

They will pay that into my usual account on 8th October 2026 (which is my usual payment day)

Making sure the PIP you get is right for you the usual explanation about people's lives change & you need to tell them if anything changes.

    How I made my decision

I looked at all the information available to me including

the how your disability affects you form

the information provided in the letter from your general practitioner and

the extra information you gave us.

This told me the type of help, and how much help you need.

It then goes on about how many points you need in each section

    Preparing food 4 points

eating and drinking 0 points ( I don't need help)

Managing your treatments 0 points (a pill caddy & emails set up to remind me to order repeat prescriptions hasn't scored any points probably because I'm the one to fill the pill caddy)

    Washing & Bathing 3 points

    Managing toilet needs 2 points

    Dressing & undressing 2 points

    communicating 0 points (I don't need help)

    Reading 0 points (I don't need help)

Mixing with other people 0 points (I don't need help)

Making budgeting decisions 0 points (I don't need help)

I scored 11 points standard care

    Mobility

    Planning & following a journey 0 points ( I don't need help)

    Moving around 12 points

    Enhanced mobility.

    My Decision

I looked at the information provided on AR1 How your disability affects you form and medical evidence. I decided to award you PIP for a longer time as your circumstances have changed. Your rate of PIP has not changed. This information provided is enough to decide how much help you need on the majority of days. This shows you still need help with daily living and mobility activities I award you PIP for a set time as your needs may change.

    Yours sincerely

    Office manager

It says "I decided to award you PIP for a longer time because your circumstances have changed It's 6 years looking at the claim in 5 years time that is the exact same time as the last one. So it's the same time period for me but does it mean that they have given me a longer time than they can give? And my circumstances haven't changed.

On my last award letter it was singed by the decision maker an actual printed person's name & a signature this time it just says office manager. Is this to cut down on time it takes for the decision & letters coming out to you?.

I have to say looking at that you should be getting the enhanced award for both as you should get a point for using a dosette box, which would give you 12 points for both.
