Parcelcompare & Parcelhero nonsense...

Hello,

My Spanish friend left her belongings at my home in England a year ago (two quite large boxes... guitar, clothes etc). She came to visit me this Christmas and we packaged everything and she paid for it all to be sent to her in Spain. We booked one parcel with Parcelcompare (PC) and the other with Parcelhero (PH), both to be delivered by FedEx. They were booked for 07/01/26.

The FedEx chap came to collect both parcels first thing in the morning but refused to take them as they were incorrectly inputted by PC and PH as '1kg'. On the labels they both say the correct amount (5kg and 22kg) but not on the FedEx system. The courier told me this is commonplace on these parcel comparison sites and 'FedEx are fed up so are refusing to collect them'. Sounds fair enough (if true).

So, i'm left with two large parcels to send, and a shoddy complaints' system by both PC and PH. I can't find a dashboard on their sites... I found an address on PH site saying they will reply within 14 days. I can see a couple of email addresses online but considering they aren't even on their official websites, it makes me wonder how long it will be to receive a reply.

What would you suggest i do? Should i just cancel the shipments? Is another site - e.g. Parcelmonkey - less fraudulent? I have used PC in the past and don't remember having an issue like this, but i wasn't sending anything huge.

Thanks in advance.

PS EDIT: I also took a photo of the FedEx courier's gizmo showing '1kg' so i can put that to both PC and PH.

Go direct to a courier. All these comparison sites are similar and you'll potentially face the same issues.

Considering we've already paid, already input the customs' info etc, surely they'll have to uphold their part if i contact them and say i'm reporting this to trading standards? Ideally i'd rather them sort their own mess out as it saves me a lot of time going over it all again. If this really is something these companies do all the time, then i'll be filing a report with TS anyway.
