Balcony post waterproofing

Hello

Any clues on how this balcony post is waterproofed?

The sealant around around the metal base needs replacing but it hasn't leaked below so I'm assuming it's not just relying on that?

Tiny. Not much. Sorry it's not leaking. I'm just trying to understand how they water proof things like these

Looks like a epdm or pvc roof
remove the covering ring, to gain access to the fixings.

Will there be some kind of flashing under the cover?

Looking at the picture you have a patch underneath the base plate, this has been welded or glued there to give the roof extra protection,so the base plate doesn’t cut into the material.
it could be fixed either by raw plugs and coach type bolts, or more likely resin anchor bolts with countersunk heads, and extra resin applied so it spreads out underneath the plate giving a seal.  You’ll know better if you lift up the cover plate.

The small amount of movement could be the lateral movement of the post and not the baseplate

imo if it’s not leaking leaving it alone is the best option
