Tesco e-gift card issue - being sent round in circles!

Hi I purchased an e-gift card from the Tesco gift card website, the recipient has been unable to activate it. I contacted Tescos 2 days after purchase tried to complete form on website yet got error “captcha” required wouldn’t submit. Spoke to CS they agreed form not working said they would need to complete it. No follow up although I got email saying firm now submitted. Phoned several times being told that it was being investigated, still nothing. Yesterday phoned again told I had to ring gift card company, given telephone number. Rang company they told me as I purchased through Tesco they couldn’t help! In desperation emailed the CEO, got reply fill out form on website, to third party supplier. Tried same form again same error. Emailed them back to explain again reply today the issues is with third party supplier Tesco can’t help. Thanks Tesco!
As I purchased on credit card can I get them to get a refund?
