eurostar january deal and mse code

So, really needed tickets for Paris, so I immediately jumped on this deal.
Went through the process via my Trainpal as advised by mse and managed to get 2 x return tickets to Paris for £140 with an extra 10% off with the code. Checked my emails for the booking to print the tickets. no email. Went back on to Trainpal to retrieve the booking reference, found it, and how much I'd paid, £134.00, but couldn't see an option to print the tickets. Went in to my bookings, no upcoming trips??? Checked my credit card, no payment taken out? Went back into Trainpal and the booking then said it was cancelled and gave me an option to book again?? tried again and they'd increased the price threefold??? Sent repeated emails with the booking reference and the details and have had no reply as yet. So I did the process again through Eurostar this time as I needed these in the tickets. Same excellent price, but they won't accept the MSE code?? They said MSESTAR01 was an error and to check it and try again. Was this just a ruse to get Money Saving Expert to promote their deals?? Disappointing, if so...? I booked the tickets anyway so they win either way.

Trainpal have form for promoting deals that they cannot then deliver (at least in my experience). But of course by the time you find this out you have downloaded their app, signed up to their site, and been added to their notifications and maillists.

Did anyone manage to bag the MSE-promoted deal?

There's currently a Eurostar sale on which is tickets for £35 per person each way on the Eurostar site. Which would give you the same price.

In any case I would never book international travel via a third party, always go  direct + it saves loads of angst if there is a problem as you're not going via a third party.
