What is the cheapest unlocked touch screen mobile phone ?

I rarely use a phone and I dont even keep one on all the time, I do need one to have for emergencies though, I have used an Alcatel 5033X which cost £5 used ! but it is now dead as I spilled water on it .

These can still be had on Ebay for £10 / 20

Is this still the cheapest option ?

Argos have some very low cost phones, the cheapest of which appear to be "Vodafone" and require a £10 top up voucher in addition to the phone cost, but at least they appear to be 4G phones for £12 (plus £10).

Beware that many of the cheaper phones from Argos seem to be 2G only, and that is obsolete technology.

    SIM free Nokia £13.50
And it comes with a case.

Apologies, I searched for SIM free and didn't realise the Vodafone one had snuck in.
    The SIM free is £24. It's 4g.

My old second hand one still works fine for calls and texts on 2g. That won't be forever though.

Tesco do a cheap phone, 4G and dual sim,   £24.  Plus £10 off if you top up online!   Not touch screen but still a decent phone for £13.

IMO Dash 4G Mini.    Buy an online top-up voucher with this phone and we’ll give you £10 off.

My neighbour bought one of these last month when they switched off 2G here.

It's 4G unlocked to all networks but doesn't have a touchscreen so no use for the OP.

It doesn't require a £10 topup 'cos it works with your existing SIM. There's a Vodafone SIM in the box which I assume would give you £10 the advertised credit (not used). However it is very small so no use if you have fat fingers.

It's worthwhile stating that it has been illegal to lock phones to a network for about five years.

Any phone you buy from a shop will be able to take a SIM from any network.

if you need a charger/ adaptar and a cable, worth checking whether it comes with the phone, as nowadays you have to buy them separately.

By all means get a new one that's cheap and suits your needs, but I would not buy a used one.  My past 3 phones have been used (excellent condition) but either the screen or the battery or both have failed far quicker than if they were new.  So I ended up paying 50% price for soemthing that lasted 50% of the life of a new one
