Argos Wardrobes

Hi All,
I have been attempting to fix my wardrobe with Argos. I will try and make this a quick one but I would like some advice if anything.
I bought a wardrobe in October 2024 and it took forever to fix and I quickly gathered there were not the right parts. I sent an email to Argos however I gathered this was not Argos' email. I then went on to raise it with them in February 2024 as the wardrobe was starting to become unstable. An engineer came over and said to me they are not made to be for a lot of clothes etc. (although it as 3 drawers and 4 doors) and advised I order some levellers of Amazon and this will make the wardrobe not lump sided which I did. Fast forward to now you can tell the wardrobe is about to collapse.
Now I realise I should have just returned it when I should have and not accepted no as an answer according to consumer rights.
I was wondering if there is anything I can do?

You can try to make a claim that the wardrobe is not of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose, but as it's more than 6 months since you bought it, you need to prove that any defects existed when the wardrobe was delivered. That's hard at the best of times, but with flat pack furniture it will be really difficult, and may cost more than the wardrobes.
Also bear in mind argos would be entitled to reduce any refund to account for the use youve had already, so even if successful you may get 50% or less back of your original outlay.
Are the wardrobes definitely broken, or do they just need some adjustment and tightening up?0 -

The fault was reported to Argos within 6 months which I think should stop the clock. If an engineer came out and was unable to resolve the issue then it's probably not fixable by the OP, so it might be best to determine what sort of refund offer Argos will make, and report that back here to see whether it's considered acceptable or if a counter-offer should be put to them.0 -
It doesn't sound like the engineer identified any fault though - overloading and an uneven floor aren't going to get you far, and then happily using it for another 10 months complaint wont help.SiliconChip said:Woodstok2000 said:You can try to make a claim that the wardrobe is not of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose, but as it's more than 6 months since you bought it, you need to prove that any defects existed when the wardrobe was delivered. Despite that, theres no harm in taking a chance with argos and seeing if they offer anything!1 -
