I'm off to hospital next week to be fitted with a CPAP machine as a trial.

Try putting you mattress at an angle with the head end higher.

If you have sleep apnea diagnosed you will receive a free, (more than likely) state of the art CPAP machine. My sister’s is updated every couple of years.

You will normally be given a Resmed Airsense 10, its wifi enabled so they can see how the sleep apnea is controlled. That is what I and three other people who I know were given.

Although the Resmed is supposedly the standard machine for trusts to use, some are issuing Philips Dreamstations. My trust uses these

have an appointment with gp , but was thinking about simpler items e.g pillows

Sleep apnoea - NHS has a tennis ball suggestion to force side-sleeping among other basic life style things to help, perhaps.
