If a patient received notice of an operation date but no surgeon turned up at the date and time scheduled, there would be hell to pay.
    Irrelevant. Poor analogy.
    What time was your flight?

Time of flight isnt particular helpful unless we know how long the train journey was.

Im hoping this isnt a case that the initial train only got the OP to the bag drop desk only half an hour before it closed....
Trains run pretty much 24/7 to manchester airport from many locations.
The only 24h route was the Manchester Airport-Manchester Picc-Leeds-York one when I last looked and even that may not run anymore.

The OP hasnt returned anyway. I would wager there was a train at 0640 or there abouts, if that would have got him/her in late for his flight then he/she was cutting it fine to start with

....<snip> Sadly, AI has provided to give me an answer to what station it could have been based on the times given.
Gemini managed to deduce that Manchester Piccadilly was the only station with a service to Manchester Airport on 1st December at those specific times that the OP mentioned.

    There were also subsequent trains at 0636, 0647, 0651 & 0655

At the risk of feeding further speculative discussion that doesn't actually address OP's consumer rights question (which is perhaps why they haven't been back), I have serious doubts about the credibility of a suggestion that someone would book a five minute taxi journey for 05:15 to get to Piccadilly by 06:05 for an onward train journey to the airport that's only 8 miles and 20 minutes away, and that, if that really was the journey, it still wouldn't have been possible to get to the airport in time even after the initial taxi delay!

Was the firm Veezu? I’ve stopped using them because they have never ever turned up when they were supposed to to.
