Building website for small business

I'm currently trying to help my wife set up her business. We are currently looking at setting up the website however I'm aware of several providers where you can design your own. Does anyone have any recommendations on which on to use? I've gone through a number and not sure which to go for. I was thinking about Wordpress however not sure?

I've used wix in the past and easily - don't forget you also need to sort out hosting so it may be worthwhile getting an all-in-one package2

All in one solutions are definitely more expensive but are typically easier for novice users. They are generally reasonable though at making sure your site works ok on both computers and mobile screens etc.
What is the website for? Just to advertise services? An e-commerce site? Is it a fundamental part of the business' strategy or just a tickbox because everyone should have a website?

Thanks both, we've already got a domain as wanted to get that sorted. It won't be selling anything, more for advertising consulting services in a specific field. It's important as to outline services being offered along with advertising. Seems to be quite a few all in one solutions so got a bit overwhelmed with it all.0

Website require a lot of work for them to have any impact, many take a "build it and they will come" attitude and sit back and after 6 months realise the only visitors have been search engine spiders.TheGame21 said:Thanks both, we've already got a domain as wanted to get that sorted. As a consultant/contractor it appears my site was down for 2 years before it was noticed. Have always found LinkedIn and such a better place to find/be found by etc.1 -
Can recommend Create.net as a small and very user-friendly build-your-own solution; with rapid email help / advice available from a personal account manager, and a helpful Facebook group for users and the Create team. They do a free trial (of a month I think) so you could try them out and see how you get on. No affiliation, have just used them for our ecommerce website for the past decade or so...0
