Does injury from cat fight count as pre-existing

Hi, looking for cat insurance after increase by existing insurer.
When filling in form it says do I want to cover any injuries, condition or illness.
My cat had his, ear torn and a few other injuries from a fight which needed treatment.
But if I select yes, based on this situation it says i need specialist insurance.
So should I say no and what could be the consequences. For example, if there was something relating to the cat's ear later down line or got involved in another fight could insurance be refused as considered pre-condition?
Thanks for any advice.

IIRC Petplan asked if our cat had had more than 3 fights in the past year. He was a rescue so we had no way of knowing. If you fill it in correctly, it will probably be referred to their underwriters (as was our quote because he'd had dental work which was resolved satisfactorily) to take a view. I can't see that one cat fight would stop them issuing a reasonable quote, otherwise they'd be insuring very few pets.I'd recommend Petplan, they were great when our previous cat had cancer, plus prices only go up to reflect increase in age, not because you've claimed.Make £2025 in 2025

Thanks. Does, this mean though that any prior claim effectively stops you from searching through generic sites like MSM or CTM.
As soon as I set that he had prior injury it says I need to seek specialist insurance.
The downside is each has to be done manually so hard to compare quotes quickly.

I know Agria insurance for dogs is chesper and for more cover and they also claim that they won't increase the premiums in the event of a claim..increase in premiums for both Petplan and Agria is more likely down to the vets fees and medication costs .The age only becomes a factor in later lifewilliamcroome said:Thanks. Comparison sites are only for straightforward cases. Each insurance will have their own risk assessment as to whether a previous injury is likely to be related to something arising at a later date.Petplan tended to use wide spreading exclusions but they would reconsider after two years without further treatment or recurrence. Most companies increase premiums if you claim and all increase premiums to account for increased running costs.Be aware that you often get an introductory rate when you sign up , which you lose after the first year.0
