I agree with the earlier suggestion to use power adaptors. Works magically for us.

If you are WFH do some companies not insist on a hard wired connection if you are dealing with sensitive imformation?
Play with the expectation of winning not the fear of failure.    S.Clarke

If they're insisting on it, are they paying for it?

I'd have thought smart speakers/Alexa's were a much bigger risk of data security. But really if the information is that sensitive, should someone handling it be working from home?

Dont know if you are working in Defence etc but in my line of work (Finance) they just require you to use their VPN which in principle protects all the data whilst in transit irrespective of if by wire or air.

I've never seen any specific requirements. IME companies rely on their VPNs to handle privacy, as they want to cover all eventualities right up to the senior management sending confidential info over insecure airport WIFI.

Anyway, we use a mesh system of TP-Link Deco P9 units which combine mesh WIFI with powerline backhaul. It works well here, where other approaches were disappointing. Even at the far end of the garden and in the extension with two solid full brick walls between me and the main router I still have a 20+Mbps connection that's good for WFH and watching HD videos.
