Facebook marketplace - Buyer Name issue

I sold an item on marketplace for £850 to a buyer in Spain. (I am in the uk)

Posted the item using royal mail

Buyer paid by bank transfer (funded from his girlfriends credit card I think)

I put his email address and phone number into royal mail.
He had an email and paid the import fees online.

Now, he has messaged me to say the profile he was using to message me on was a fake/temporary one.
I used the name from the profile on the postage label. 

They have attempted to deliver and he was not in.
His local post office have refused to let him collect the parcel as his ID does not match the name on it and I have sent it using a service that requires a signature. 

Is there an easy way (for me the sender) to contact the Spanish delivery agent and get the name changed?

Or do I just wait and see if it gets returned to me and then make him pay the postage again?
I presume the import duties are also his problem and he can sort those himself if he has to pay twice?

No. It could be!

Although I can see from the tracking that the item is awaiting collection..

The only way i can see a scam would work is if the buyer had received the item and then tried a charg back with the credit card claiming it was not delivered to the correct name (or maybe the registered address for the card)
But he has given me the delivery address via message so I think that could be used to defend a chargeback? Although those messages are from a false name!!
Also, the payment in my bank shows as a chaps transfer which I didn't think could be recalled?

It sounds like it is somewhere. Sounds to me like it may be a kid playing with their parents' bank details and seeing what they can get away with. If I was the OP I'd be more concerned that it wasn't me who was considered to be the scammer, although it should be easy enough to see what has happened.

It is pretty safe. I was told many years ago that there isn't a 100% safe bank payment. Most of us couldn't get a chaps transfer recalled but a bank could probably do it if they considered fraud to be involved.

If it is a payment into a personal account then presumably that is classed as a cash advance not a purchase. Presumably at no stage did the buyer provide a real name and address? Did you communicate that the item would require a signature?

It's a piece of industrial hardware.
Part of a machine so it not exactly at high risk lf scamming (apart from the value) and I can't see a child being interested in it.

I can see the import duty has also been paid (by the buyer) so a child would have had to have access to the payment method twice over a week period.

I am not sure what actually payment method was used. I think it was one of the online sites that provides currency conversion or something. He told me the payment would be in the name of his girlfriend as she was paying by credit card.
I guess he paid in euros then the service he used converts it to GBP.
It just shows in my personal account as a chaps transfer (no mention of currency conversion)

He provided the shipping address via facebook messenger.  I just used the name he was sending messages from on the shipping.
I don't remember selecting that it required a signature but I did use a service that covered it for the full value so maybe that was part of that.
I don't think they asked him to sign for it on delivery anyway. It sounds like they tried to deliver while he was out and he has been to the sorting office to collect it but they won't release it because he doesn't have ID that matches the name on the package. 
I would have thought ID with the same address would be enough but maybe not in Spain?

Can he ask for a redelivery if Correos offer this?  And then make sure that someone is in to receive it!

It looks like you can do that and may be able to amend the name there too. It does seem that that would be down to the receiver rather than the sender.
