Final Update on this Thread and Case.
Phone Arbitration happened. They offered £60 to settle. My friend the driver mentioned the BBC Documentary program regarding the debacle at Leeds and offered £5. They refused and settled for £15.
I'll take that as a win since it will have cost them £35 to raise the MCOL in the first place & we don't have the hassle of actually going to court.
Thanks to all for your comments and input over this!2 -
They settled for £15?? That's amazing
They clearly know these claims are junk 😂

That's another win! £15 means they lost money.
ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST!
😀
P.S. which documentary? Link?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

More of an investigation, but on BBC Sounds as well :

I've been a bit out of the loop & am just catching up but this looks like a great result for you @PCGuruSwami. 😁
I too have now had the mediation call & offered the obligatory £5 to settle but no luck for me, see my case details here -
I wonder what made them settle at £15 for you but wasn't an option for me, when the circumstances seem pretty much identical..
I have also captured the details from the BBC reports & statements from others saying that its unclear & unfair.
I now have a notice of allocation to the small claims track for the 9th October so better start preparing for that.
I will pop an update on my post, but any advice is greatly appreciated.
