Our 10yo HDD 4 camera system has died.  The cameras are OK but being 10 yo could be worth swapping to a new system rather than just the HDD box.  However, thing I'd like to be better is the App.  The system  is too far n from the TV to operate via the mouse, and would like an App which would allow you to record to the phone a selected section.  Any suggestions?

I would recommend Reolink, I have both the wifi battery powered ones and the POE ones and have had them for around a year now and very good. We still have an NVR that can be connected to the TV but very rarely do this and mainly use the Reolink app. No subscription required and they have a range of WIFI/4G/Wired/Battery cameras.

I have some wifi cameras too, with micro sd cards, but it's the saving a section to the phone from the HDD.  Currently use Zosi, and it allowed me to select and save a section, but no idea where to, and could not send it on.  I would have to remove the unit from its connections to put the unit where I can use TV & mouse, hence wishing to do it on the App.
