Hi, I have a Central Heating and boiler cover which I took out in another property which covered the Gas boiler and central heating and also included pipes and electrics. I moved home in September to a property that has Oil Boiler so the insurance company did not cover the boiler so when I tried to cancel the policy which was valid until December they offered me a discount of 15% just to cover the central heating, pipes and electrics, and said the policy would then stop in December, unfortunately I didnt get an email confirmation for this but they did say that the converstaion was being recorded. In the meantime in the new property I had to call them oyt for the central heating as I had an issue which after 5 weeks and getting my own plumber to fix they reimbursed the cost of the fix, they sent out 5 different tradesmen and also had multiple heated discussions with them as they said I wasn't covered for the oil boiler but it was the central heating at fault. Sorry pressed wrong button and posted this is the rest of the issue -
They have automatically renewed my policy and now say that they cannot cancel the policy and that I am liable to pay the full 12 months of a cover that will not cover my Boiler or Central Heating now but will do pipes and electrics which I only added on at the inital contract as it was a few pounds more they have offered me a discount for this but dont want that cover. I have told them that they policy is not fit for purpose and also I wanted to cancel with imediate affect as I did not want the policy renewed but the will not cancel it, and have now said that if I stop my direct debit they will send it to a debt collecting agency. Where do I stand with this as firstly they are not covereing the agreed services (boiler, Central heating) and they are insisting that they will not cancel the policy and I am liable for the next 12 moths, they said that they sent out a renewal emaill in November which I have not seen so could have gone to my junk email (they agreed that it could have) which gets cleared every few weeks so nothing there. I have requested the conversation I had with them in September but the said they don't keep the conversations for that long so unable to provide it. The company is Your Repair and since I have been with them they have never been able to repair my issues within a reasonable time period, and now they cannot even cover the items I need to be covered. Where do I stand with this am I liable for the next 12 moths of payments with no cover to the items I want covered, is there any additional information you can give me to get this policy canceled or any advice to stop this policy.
