Boundless card accepted photo ID

I don’t have a drivers license and cannot decide if I want to renew a Passport. I have recently joined Boundless but it needs photo ID, does anyone know if a Freedom Pass photo ID is acceptable, if not is there any other, cheaper choice, than a Passport?

I was thinking of joining Boundless - I used to be in it's predecessor (CMSA) - Is it worth paying £40 for ?most of the savings details are hidden until joining !

I did the £68 option as I wanted Historic Royal Palaces card as well as Kew Gardens. I was a member of both (still am, until they run out soon!). Savings for just those was certainly worth it to me. HRP(£68 Boundless or HRP £95 joint) allows entry for two adults, Kew(£40 option or £78 membership)you need to pay for 2nd but money off, as I’m not on UC, PC JSA or other “Benefits”, I did not have access for £1 but was fed up buying Membership to Kew and HRP. If I was really organised I’d buy the gift cards for M&S, Tesco, ASDA, Waitrose, etc to do my monthly shopping, as they come with money off £30 M&S for £28.50 gift cards before Christmas. I don’t drive so the breakdown cover does not apply to me. Wetlands, Taste Card, Brittany Ferries, Barrhead Travel, Pizza Express so many more with 3.5 - 5% offers. If it is used extensively I would say it would be worth it. The £40 has less offers. Cinema 37%. If you refer a friend you get a £10 voucher. As you can see just for the Kew and HRP memberships I have saved £105 pounds, if I was in Scotland I’d get NT membership, not in England for NT unfortunately.MouldyOldDough said:I was thinking of joining Boundless - I used to be in it's predecessor (CMSA) - Is it worth paying £40 for ?most of the savings details are hidden until joining !Paddle No 21:wave:0 -

Morrisons are there. If your wife is shopping it is handy that you buy the gift card and then she can use it every time she shops. 3.5% £1 card you pay 97p etc. She would not need to show your Boundless card. If I was organised I could buy £500 M&S gift card a month and use that when I shop. The card I bought before Christmas arrived very quickly.Paddle No 21:wave:0 -
So - how it works is you PREPAY via a discounted gift card ?

I'd seriously consider renewing a passport, especially without a driving licence. Things like this will crop up again and again over the next ten years and a passport wil save you jumping through a lot of hoops and / or missing out on the best deals. Passport and/or driving licence are the only forms of photo ID that many institutions will accept.0

Wouldn't an expired passport be sufficient to prove your identity even though you can no longer travel with it. If not a provisional driving licence is cheaper at £34, but I'm not sure if that has a photo on it.0

It is a shame that the Boundless card does not have a photo on it. I gifted my friends Savill Garden membership and their cards come with a photo on, printed when you visit and start the membership. My Freedom Pass has my photo, so will try that the first time I go. I am looking at the link in an above post as well, but that is just a bit of paper and making it last for a year should be fun, granted I could laminate it.
I have just tried to order the paper photo ID but after answering "YES" to the Freedom Pass it tells me I don't need to order the photo ID just use that, so my fingers are crossed Kew Gardens and HRP accept that as my photo ID for my Boundless card, it will make things so much easier as I never leave home without that. I will update after I try.Paddle No 21:wave:0
