Back-to-the-wall inset sinktop.

Just saw this on Pinterest (I think), and I like the idea - I hate the wee gap left behind inset sinktops that serve no purpose and just become messy and wet.

Struggling to find one, tho'. Any ideas? Thanks.

(Or is it just an ordinary inset sink set back a bit further? The amount of 'top showing at the front looks more than usual?)

The only thing unusual about that sink is that it's a double full sized bowl but still has a tap mount. Most would have an even border all the way round and the tap is mounted in the worktop behind.

I think you're right - there's nowt special about the size - it's just set back further.
Cool - I plan to have an upstand along the back, so will butt-and-seal the sink to this.

If you mount it further back will you have to cut the back of the cupboard though?

I've just had a look at mine and yes, you'd have to butcher the back of the unit a bit but I don't think it's a big deal, many sink units don't have a back. Check though that the tap isn't too close to whatever is behind the sink, you may have to give some thought to the type of tap if it's very close.

We have a Franke sink, 2 full size bowls plus a small central bowl and a good size drainer on the far left.  The tap sits in the sink ledge behind the small bowl and, because of the tap design, when you operate it with wet hands water drips onto the worktop in the space up to the wall, really annoying!

 My solution is to fold a dish towel and lay it along the gap so it catches any drips, works well.
