Christmas Giveaway 2025 - Terms and Conditions

• This free prize draw (“Christmas Giveaway”) is open to persons aged 18 years or over who are UK/ IRE residents only. Proof of age and identity may be required. Entry to the Christmas Giveaway is free.
• The Promoter is Attheraces Limited, a company incorporated in England with company number 03896585, whose registered office is at Millbank Tower, 21-24 Millbank, London, SW1P 4QP. 
• Employees of the Promoter, Ascot Racecourse, Newbury Racecourse, Chester Racecourse, Hexham Racecourse, Arena Racing Company, Owners Group and Betfred are not eligible to enter the Christmas Giveaway.
• Only 1 entry per email address and no more than 4 entries per household are permitted. If the Promoter has reasonable grounds to believe that multiple entries have been made by the same person, all entries by such entrant will be disqualified from participating in the Christmas Giveaway or receiving any prize.
• Entrants will be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions and agreed to be bound by them when entering this Christmas Giveaway. These terms and conditions will apply for the duration of the Christmas Giveaway.
• The Promoter will use each entrant’s personal details for the purpose of administering this Christmas Giveaway and the winners’ details will be made available to Ascot Racecourse, Chester Racecourse, Newbury Racecourse, Hexham Racecourse, Arena Racing Company, Owners Group or Betfred (as applicable) for the fulfilment of the relevant prize. 
• To take part in the Christmas Giveaway, an entrant must submit their name and email address between 15:00pm BST on Thursday 4th December 2025 and 11:00pm BST on Sunday 4th January 2026.

• The Christmas Giveaway prize winners will be determined at random.
• The prizes comprise:
  • -Three shares in Owners Group horse, Oakworth, for 12 months (one share per winner);
  • -Two annual memberships of Newbury Racecourse (one winner);
  • -A day’s racing for a winner and 1 guest (both aged 18 years or over) at Ascot Racecourse on Betfair Ascot Chase Raceday on 14th February 2026;
  • -A day’s racing for a winner and 1 guest (both aged 18 years or over) at the Boodles May Festival at Chester Racecourse on 6 May 2026;

• There is no cash alternative to the prizes and unless agreed otherwise in writing the prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable and non-endorsable. All components of a prize must be taken together.
• The draw will take place on Tuesday 6th January 2026 and the winners will be notified via email on Friday 9th January. It is each entrant’s sole responsibility to ensure that their contact details are up to date. Winners will be required to verify their age, identity and other requested verification information to the satisfaction of the Promoter before they are eligible to receive a prize. Any public announcement (including on ATR properties (TV, online etc.)) will be pending verification unless otherwise stated and should not be considered final confirmation.
• If any entrant is not able, for whatever reason, to accept a prize, verify their identity to the satisfaction of the Promoter, has been found to have breached these terms and conditions by the Promoter or cannot be contacted within 48 hours and/or confirm their ability to use the prize within 48 hours of notification, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify that entrant (and their eligibility to receive any prize under the Summer Giveaway) and award the prize to another participant, if applicable.
• The Promoter reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this Christmas Giveaway with or without prior notice due to reasons outside its control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected or actual fraud). The Promoter further reserves the right at its discretion to substitute a prize with another prize in the event the original prize offered is not available but shall be under no obligation to do so. The decision of the Promoter in all matters under its control is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
• Entry into the Christmas Giveaway constitutes permission for the Promoter to use the names and photographs of participants for publicity purposes at their discretion. The winners may be required to participate in such publicity without further compensation as the Promoter reasonably requires.
• The Promoter shall not be responsible for lost or misdirected messages, unavailable network connections, failed incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions, online failures, hardware, software or other communications failures or circumstances affecting receipt or entrants ability to participate in the Christmas Giveaway or if any racing or any other event applicable to the Christmas Giveaway is cancelled for any reason or any circumstances affecting a winner’s ability to access or use their prize. The Promoter is also not responsible for any act or default of any third party suppliers or for any reasons of Force Majeure.* 
• Except in the case of death or personal injury arising from its negligence or in respect of fraud and so far as is permitted by law, neither the Promoter nor any of its directors, employees or other representatives (nor the directors, employees or other representatives of its agents, sub-contractors or group companies) will be liable for damages, in contract, tort or otherwise including negligence, arising out of or in connection with the Christmas Giveaway and/or the provision of the prizes. You confirm that the Promoter shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification to, suspension of or discontinuance of any or all of the Christmas Giveaway. This is a comprehensive limitation of liability that applies to all damages of any kind, including (without limitation) compensatory, direct, indirect or consequential damages, loss of data, income or profit, loss of or damage to property and claims of third parties. 
• If any provision or part-provision of these terms and conditions are or becomes invalid, illegal or unenforceable, it shall be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, legal and enforceable. If such modification is not possible, the relevant provision or part-provision shall be deemed deleted. Any modification to or deletion of a provision or part-provision under this clause shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the rest of these terms and conditions.
• The Promoter’s decision is final and legally binding on all entrants in relation to all aspects of the Christmas Giveaway including (without limitation) allocation of the prizes and no correspondence will be entered into. Entries that do not comply in full with the Christmas Giveaway’s rules or terms and conditions will be disqualified and will not be eligible to receive a prize.
• The prize winners and their prize companions must comply with the terms of entry to the relevant racecourses hosting a prize, including dress code. The prize winner and their prize companions must also comply with all health and safety guidelines and instructions, and all applicable legal and regulatory requirements required by the country and any venues hosting the prizes, including but not limited to complying with public health protocols. The Christmas Giveaway is governed by the laws of England and Wales and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

 

The prizes do not include travel/transportation, car parking, meals, souvenirs, gratuities, additional excursions and attractions or any other costs or expenses (including spending money) that are not explicitly set out in these terms and conditions.

(*Force Majeure" means: a fire, flood, lightning, storm, earthquake or other similar geological or metrological event or condition or Act of God, national emergency, disease, epidemic, pandemic, war, act of terrorism, riot or criminal act or damage, strike, lockout or other industrial action or any other event beyond the control of the Promoter, Ascot Racecourse, Chester Racecourse, Newbury Racecourse, Hexham Racecourse, Betfred, Owners Group, Arena Racing Company and their group companies.)
