Being in a cosy bed is so lovely, yet I can't do it for long once awake. I'm annoying myself. 😁
The frost didn't melt all day yesterday, even parts of the canal were covered in a thin layer of ice. I was wrapped up like a Michelin man to go out, even the thick woollen tights were dug out from the bedroom. My outing was short, only to the delivery office to return a parcel and to the local greengrocer for sprouts. Then I brought in a load of logs from the barn, lit the stove and huddled. As I was leaving home a neighbour (from two miles away) was out running so we stopped for a chat. He was heading for the village pub where he'd left his car the night before. I offered him a lift though he refused. He made it even though he was plodding along.Lunch was macaroni cheese followed by chocolate. Balanced? Of course! Today I have chicken with cauliflower cheese, it's the weather for comfort food. I really need to make some soup but it won't be today. We have a pending yellow weather warning for Thursday and Friday so I'll do some stocking up today. So sorry you've got an UTI @Coxy, I feel your pain and discomfort. I hope you got ABs yesterday. Welcome back to @Molly. Enjoy Yorkshire @Snoozer. As for late posting, I always read in bed so enjoy them, there's no closing time for interest. Take care everyone, keep warm and safe. Hugs to all especially those struggling with various assorted lurgies. Xx12 -
Morning GERS and all to follow. Blimey it's a cold start this morning but worse is to come looking at the long range forecast.
Another day of same old same old methinks. I haven't been out of the door since DD's on Christmas Day but it's pointless going out for the sake of it. And standing at the freezing cold bus stop doesn't sound too appealing. There is nothing I need or want. I am pondering on taking down all the decs but may leave until the NY, give all the batteries time to die before disposing of them. I always leave the lights in the dresser and "bird cage" until clock change as they cheer the place up a bit in the dismal winter days.
I still have a few slices of Sunday's turkey roast to finish so that will be my lunch today with the lo cauli cheese and probably peas. Nice 'n easy.
Have a lovely day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, keep warm and safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -

It's dry outside but the forecast is not good for us.
I've just been reading back on yesterday, what a newsy day! I'll try my best to remember everything.
Welcome back MollyWindley, I remember you, sorry to hear life is difficult for you at the moment. Keep posting, you'll find it's a lovely, supportive place. As
TA said, quite a few of us are poor sleepers as well, so we can relate to that.

Morning allChilly morning here.Gp's been playing about with my BP medicine and I had side effects so had to give a urine sample. Got a message yesterday that they found blood cells in it so got to go and get some sample bottles today to do 2 weekly samples for them. Hopefully they will become clear and it was just side effects.Apart from that nothing else going on here. Checked my current account and got my Govt pension early this month but my private pension should have gone in today but didn't. Crafty lot holding onto it until the last minute!Hope everyone has a good day and hugs for the poorlies and their relatives xx12

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x.Got some ABs and took to my bed yesterday. Was hot then shivering cold with nausea. Unfortunately I then developed a migraine so I was up again around 6 to dose up, then 8pm for my night ABs. Managed to then sleep through until 7:30am. UTI improving but head still not great, luckily we have no plans today.Good to see you posting @snoozer and congrats to C&C xx

Morning all from a rather dull and dampish Mehefinland
Met a friend for a coffee in the local market town yesterday afternoon - you would have sworn that they were giving stuff away. The place was heaving, and we had a long wait to be seated and then served at our go to cafe. I have never seen so many people rammed into a charity shop (CRUK) but surprisingly the Dogs Trust was closed - think they missed a trick there. They were queueing to get into the W*rose carpark so I hate to think what it was like in the store!! I usually park at the agricultural merchants and walk anyway - loads of room there too!
The lady who wants poo for her school is currently in Oslo so I can't see that happening this year, particularly as the forecast isn't very good. Just been told of an ad hoc beach litter pick on NYE ( daytime I hasten to add!!) which I should probably go to. Will see what the weather is doing - it was bitterly cold on Boxing Day at the last one.
Need to sort out some glassware for a dinner party on NYE - I'm attempting pannacotta but realised I didn't have sufficient receptacles to put it in, so its a beg, steal or borrow job - All else fails I do have a back up plan.
Keep warm, you poodles take care of yourselves and hurry up getting better.
Hugs and spoons as always

Morning folks for the second time! Just want to commiserate with COXY and CHRISCA and hope there is soon an improvement. And DP1 I meant to offer sympathy to you earlier with having your mum to care for now a well as your dad. I know how hard it is dealing with dementia sufferers as I had my own dm to care for her in her final years. It's heartbreaking when you know what they were like before. My life wasn't my own for a long time. x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11
