DRO & Mobile Phone Contract

Hello. I’m looking to go ahead with a DRO application. My concern is that I have two contracts in place with Vodafone, one for myself, the other for my son. In addition to this, I am paying monthly for my son’s new handset. I’m not in arrears with any of these, nor do I intend to be if I go ahead with the DRO. I fully expect to be able to continue to pay for these with no issues. Do I need to notify Vodafone of the situation, and if I do, would anyone know whether they are likely to cancel our contracts? Thanks so much for your help.

I had two contracts with no issues, didn’t notify the phone company.'Beware of little expenses. A small leak will sink a great ship'. -Benjamin Franklin.0

If you're not in arrears with Vodafone then It will be fine.Mobile phones are more a less an essential now a days.Unrelated to Vodafone though -If/when approved, You will need to notify your bank that you have a DRO, even if you don't owe them any money.0

I had a DRO recently and if anyone needs notifying the OR will tell who needs to know. Nowhere in the DRO information does it say you need to tell anyone either. The only time anyone needs to be told is if you apply for credit over £500 but they'll know because your credit file is pants.0

I agree, you don't have to tell your bank about a DRO if you don't owe them money. The bank may well find out by regular checks of the insolvency register, but you aren't obliged to tell them0
