Floss! yer elf n safety people would have kittens at that these days! I know Brathay. Orienteering was the most we did at night but we mostly had school groups.
daisy, we have to go with the flow don't we. I have been more hungry the past couple of weeks, I think because it has gone a bit colder.
Yorkie one, fab result. I have some old fashioned weighing scales. The 2lb weight from them is quite substantial. I know what you mean about the cooking. I would just love if I never had to cook again and someone did all the hard work for me!
Energyshifter, it's all relative. We fluctuate all the time, I of course only subscribe to that if I have gained on the scales.😂
suprisingly nice, what an lovely unexpected surprise to be a redhead again.
Brambling, 5 sisters! I am glad your friend is seeing things in a more realistic light. I also have the dentist tomorrow. Just a check but I have lost a filling.😫
I hope you have a much better nights sleep tonight Florenceem.

Tuesday has been a bright sunny day with wispy white clouds in a beautiful blue sky. High of 20°C, low of 12°C & a W wind making it feel 3° cooler. DSis has done her laundry & I have written & addressed the rest of this year’s birthday cards 🥳 DH has been busy in the garage - he spent several hours sorting, organising & decluttering & now has a broken plastic crate filled with general waste including a cut into pieces crash helmet & an old motorbike tank bag - counting as 6 (1748 - 1753), 3 cardboard boxes (1754 - 1756), a container of electrical bits & bobs (1757 - 1761) & a container of plastics (1762 - 1765) DH will be going to the Tip either tomorrow as a special trip or Thursday on the way to the sm. DH popped out to our local sm for bread & sm own brand pizzas - plain cheese & a meaty one which they neglected to mention was rather spicy. Wudupa

Apologies for not keeping up with the thread.
I've lost count of what I've had come in, although a few things are books and a few random things that are birthday presents for my birthday last month.
I managed to take a bag of assorted items to the charity shop, so pleased to be able to have stuff leaving.
I've a small pile of toiletries that will I hope will go when family pop in.
I'm hoping to bring as little back from the trip to Scotland and Yorkshire as possible. Bar a couple of goodies for special friends.
I will be aiming to join in with the weight loss again once I'm back from my trip.
I've noticed the difference trying to get everything in the suitcase, especially having a slightly smaller suitcase a friend gave me and having larger clothes.
A good incentive though, thinking of what I can pack in the future once I start losing weight again and how much more room I will possibly have in the suitcase.
But it does mean I've only been able to take what I need with almost no room for extras.

Morning all.
My night was better thank goodness.
Felt chilly when I got up and came downstairs but thermostat said 19. I didn't have the heating on at all yesterday.
Yesterday I froze 6 portions of egg & bacon pie - left one in the fridge. This morning I found some chicken bits that had lingered too long in the freezer - making a chicken curry today. I have mini naan breads in the cupboard - will have one and freeze the other 2.
The fruit loaf that I baked on Monday turned out rather dry - think I left it in the oven too long - I did get distracted by J's visit.
I repaired a hole in one of my roll neck jumpers - I like the warmth around my neck when it is chilly weather.
florianatwobob - I have only seen a woodpecker once.
suzeesu2000 - J was telling me how he didn't enjoy the UK/Ireland tour of Chicago. I pointed out that he wouldn't be touring the world in the show without doing it. He meets up with folk who were at dance school with him - who have never got employment dancing. There are more girls than boys who dance so competition for work is intense. J says it is hard for boys as well in the dancing industry.
QueenJess - good that the unwelcome visitors have left the house. I think there was only 1 event of worms and one of nits in my house which was amazing as I had 6 children.
Mrs SD - plumber is coming here next week - Friday at 9 am. I am on the list to see a gynae.
Floss - I remember the Tuffy Club.

@Floss Yay! I too was in the Tufty club. I've never seen a real red squirrel yet. Seen Black ones in NYC Central Park though.
@florianatwobob we used to get woodpeckers at work on the birdfeeder we had placed outside. Our workplace is in a mature woodland large grade 2 listed site. We got to see many birds using it. They were just 6 feet away from them behind windows that had a reflective screen on them. It was good for staff welfare seeing what we would not normally see so close too. We had to stop feeding them because we had rats. Err we are in a woodland garden, not sure what they expected to see living there.
Trying to remember what I have done this week. A lot of procrastinating going on. I did cut the back garden. We have 2 lawnmowers both petrol but the small one is a pull cord and the big one is an electric start (which I bought DH so not straining to use the pull start and make things easier for him) I like to use the big one due to that electric start, on this day it would not start without realising and then working out it had a flat battery. OK so placed it onto charge and was too impatient to wait for it to be ready got the small one out. Gave it 2 primes of petrol, pulled the cord and Yay she started first time. I felt very grown up. 😂 I was very naughty as I put the old grass cuttings into the general waste bin for collection the following day. DH goes mad at me for doing this. I have previously been able to put some into next doors green bin but hers has gone back for replacing and still awaiting for the new one. I did check the weight for it to be reasonable so hopefully they don't suspect any wrong doings going on 😉 looks like I will have to make it up to the team at Christmas a bit more.
Off for a girls meetup at their house for lunch.

How lovely @2Scratters alpity you had to stop feeding them.
I’m a 5 min walk from a nature reserve. Literally my garden, school playground, school playing field (how lucky are the kids to have both) , 5 houses then fields, chalk river etc. The wilder wildlife doesn’t tend to bother visiting as they’ve got a fully larder at their disposal. I can only assume that the summer has made finding food this autumn more difficult.

@QueenJess - Look for Chip 'N' Dale in Mickey Mouse - Pluto's Christmastree
I did see it listed on here but couldn't figure out how to access it without going through 90+ minutes of other clips first…. Chip And Dale Full Episodes (Complete Series In Order)
@Floss & @vulpix - my favourite team building exercise was when 3 of us had to use a 40 foot long rope to form an equilateral triangle. On a windy, rainy beach. Blindfolded. I'm pleased to say I came up with a solution and we did it in record time.

Hi chums just back from Knit and Natter in Ryde, the Coop are really good as they let us have one corner for our little band of crafters We all buy tea or coffee and are regularly there once a week and often some will nip into the supermarket bit to buy odds and ends. Last week because of the rain we only had 5 brave souls turn out but this week as the sun had come out we had a dozen :) so the Coop do benifit from extra customers and the ladies are brilliant who work there, as they will bring your drinks etc to the table for you which is handy.
If like me you have a bag of knitting ,plus a stick to walk with, plus shopping bag, just not enough hands :)
My friend dropped me off 42 squares she has knitted as she goes to the knitting group at the Mountbatten Hospice in Newport and knits for them but isn't keen on sewing them together, so every couple of weeks I get a bagful l which I sew together, then pick up stitches around the edges and knit a band all around
The throws do well at craft fairs and Christmas fairs, and the funds go to help the hospice. A month ago one of our knitters actually bought two from us at the meeting, and so the Hospice was £50 better off. I don't mind as I knit for the charity anyway so a bit of sewing makes a break for me.
I had a lovely trip to the mainland last weekend and saw my eldest DD and two of my DGS plus my DGD and her OH and my two little GGD's I can hardly believe they are 8 & 6 where does the time fly to ?
Its nice to go away for a few days but even nicer to come back home again .My DD has a bad throat though and is croaking like a frog at the moment, so I'm making her lots of warm lemon and honey and looking after her as she feels a bit poorly. DGS Mikey is still working at the supermarket and although its not a full time job and not what he did his degree in he is at least solvent :) he's met a few young chaps where he works and went out to play snooker yesterday which I was pleased about as he seemed to have almost no social life at all His lovely girlfrind lives in colchester where he went to Uni and has been down for the weekend last month and I know he misses her but they seem to cope ok and take it in turns to visit each other. DGS Henry is off to Thailand with his young lady on the 22nd of this month got just over two weeks, he came to dinner at our air B& B last friday night with DGS Jack as they both live in Kent Henry in Rochester and jack in Goudhurst and we had a nice dinner and played cards for an hour afterwards The boys are really good if they know we are in the Medway they will come for dinner, they are partial to their Mums lasagne :)
Right time I got the kettle on for a cuppa for DD, We are going to tackle the cupboard under the stairs next week as its crammed full of odds and ends from the move here two years and a bit ago ! ! !
Take care chums
Onwardss and upwards
