That's a lovely baby cardigan, Pip. It's good to have a pattern to go to when you need something quickly!

I’m exhausted and they had no dandelion wine at the corner shop. Just about to do my chores and clean the house top to bottom. I did manage to get some ersatz coffee so I’ll have a cup or two.Credit card 1712

My clothes arrived from the tailors. They are beautifully packaged and look good as new. I'm pleased as punch and feel I have contributed in some small way to the war effort. I shall try them on as and when. Roll on summer and happier days in the sun.Credit card 1712

Oh @daisy_1571, would that I had a 24" waist! I think my Mum did...I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Greetings everyone,
I've been inspired by all the amazing knitting projects this year from @SpikyHedgehog, @Laura_Elsewhere and @PipneyJane. Although it's a bit too hot and steamy here in NZ to get the knitting needles out, I have made my first sewing project for the year:
As modeled on a pizza box
They took quite a while as I was trying to replicate some old favourite underwear and had a few goes at getting the pattern right.

I am stuck on turning the heel of a sock. They are a different stitch count to what I usually make and have been sat by my usual evening sitting space for nearly a week. I shall take them away when I go to stay with mother next week and get them done.
Off to work today. I don’t know what I shall do when the war ends and I have to go back to cleaning! It has its own pleasures I suppose. I will send these socks for the war effort (homeless centre) when they are done. I was going to give them to my friend’s brother who can’t fight because of his nerves but they’re not really good enough. A soldier would go through them in no time I expect so it doesn’t matter if they’re not perfect.Credit card 1712

May I suggest @itsthelittlethings that you have a look at the sock pattern linked in the first post of this thread? It will help. It has very As a rule of thumb, it doesn’t matter how wide the heel is, you still start your heel turn on the wrong side, at the same point on the heel, i.e. P2 stitches after the centre stitch, P2tog, P1 turn.
HTH.
It’s very kind of you to send them to the homeless centre. Someone will love them.
