Hi, I bought something online on Boxing Day for £27.99, I specifically waited until after Xmas to see if I could get it cheaper, I did click and collect, I got a notice to say the order had been cancelled. I contacted customer service who told me the warehouse had cancelled it because there is no stock. I queried why hadn’t it been removed from the website and they said it was a case of it not been updated. I went back online to see if they had an alternative and I noticed the same item was still there but priced at £34.99 so bought it again with delivery this time because I knew I’d be back at work and might not have time to collect. This order hasn’t been cancelled. So I went back to customer service and asked why hadn’t it been removed from the website, the answer I got was my concerns have been looked into and they have done all they can and the ticket will remain closed.
I’m was a bit miffed I’d had to pay an extra £15 for what reason I do not know but also the fact that they don’t seem to want to help and the ticket will remain closed even tho the item is still on their website it’s just not adding up!

I originally wanted them to honour the £27.99 but now I feel with the response I’ve received, my query wasn’t looked into properly. Do I have any rights for them to honour the original order?

Almost certainly not as contract is usually formed on collection, they might also flag it as a unilateral error.Nugs123 said:Hi, I bought something online on Boxing Day for £27.99, I specifically waited until after Xmas to see if I could get it cheaper, I did click and collect, I got a notice to say the order had been cancelled. And its worth noting, the same product can be sold at different prices - just because its the same product doesn't mean all stock a retailer holds of that product is priced the same (they could have had a manufacturer sponsored discount on X units for example).
General consensus round here is that there are better retailers out there...1 -
Also, when they put things in the sale, it will often be for a certain number of units, so once they have sold it will revert to the original/higher price. Hence they still have stock, just not the ones on offer.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)1 -
The website will be updated by a web company, not the retailer.
It takes time for messages to be passed to the webcompany and then someone has to update it.
The web company might even be on holiday until after New Year
Ols stock is sometimnes sold off cheaper to clear stocks for new , higher priced stock coming in.
We ar ein an era of rising prices.1 -

Better retailers than what? The OP doesn't mention who the seller is, and there doesn't appear to be enough information given to establish who it is.0 -
We have no idea who updates the website.sheramber said:The website will be updated by a web company, not the retailer.
