Gap between window frame (wood) and window (aluminium), and between frame and wall

I've noticed a small (maybe 5mm) gap between the window and window frame, where I can feel a bit of a draught coming in, at a relatives house.

I've noticed how the inside wooden frame, doesn't sit flush against the wall (bottom photo). Maybe due to it being a bay window and that side of the wall being slightly curved? Here, I don't feel much of a draught.

Is there anyway I can fix both issues (maybe more imperative in this instance is the gap between the window and frame) without having to call a professional in?

Silicone would do the job and is easy to apply
  • A clear silicone frame sealant between the metal and the timber frame would be ideal.  A non-silicon acrylic sealant would be better between the wall and the wooden frame.

The reason for the two different products is that silicone cannot be painted whereas the acrylic could be painted to match the wall.

Not sure I’d say it’s easy to apply but there are you tube videos which will show you how to do so without smearing it everywhere.

If it’s me doing the job, I’d rake it out, foam it up, then glue a small quadrant bead over it. Then masking tape along the edges and wood stain to match.
A thankyou is payment enough .

Or, what @plumb1_2 said but with brown upvc quadrant trim, meaning no matching/staining required.

What should the trim look like? I'm having a hard time visualising it
