Morning again - it doesn't seem to be a bad morning out there, dry at any rate.
We did nothing yesterday, just sat about reading, watching tv, diddling on devices. It's been a busy run up to Christmas so it was good to relax. It's unusual for me to have a day like that, usually I'm always looking for a job.
I'd better do some washing today, it's building up and I usually try to keep it down.
I haven't read back, should have done that before starting this, but I will do it.
Meanwhile, I'm hoping that everyone is all right, and thoughts to you if you're not all right. Take care folks.16 -
Morning all. Thanks for the start @Scarlet.I got home in good time yesterday, the weather was clear and bright so the drive home was particularly lovely. There was an M&S hamper and bouquet waiting for me. The other day one of the local delivery drivers phoned me about something he was sticking in my hall. He was concerned that the hamper may have perishables and that the flowers were wilting. He opened the hamper, checked the contents (all good) and put the flowers in the kitchen sink with water. What a champion! After sorting out stuff I opened the scattering of gifts, put things away, had lunch and then settled down to watch the programmes I'd recorded over the past few days when away. Sudden feelings of intense tiredness sweep over me, a result of the GA, so after the second one I gave in and went upstairs to watch TV in bed. Of course, I fell asleep very quickly, before seeing anything, and slept through the night only stirring once to turn on the electric blanket as the night got very cold.Today I need fresh vegetables and not much else. I may go up to the big town and visit friends on the way down...to be decided later. For now I'll m still in bed.For those dreading Christmas I really hope that you got through it, even with sadness. Missing loved ones, dead or alive, is even more miserable when the 'world' is being jolly. The time for me to feel the loss is usually New Year, it must be the Scottish thing. Anyway, hugs all round.17

Good morning
Still dark so I don't know what the weather's doing, but it's dry. I forgot to post yesterday, I read everyone's news, then put my phone down. I blame DH who was keeping me topped up with Bucks Fizz on Christmas day, so it was the aftermath of that.
Today I need to pop out for bread, that's all we need, so I may see if we can manage with what we've got. I think DH may be going out as tomorrow is my big birthday, ending with a 0, so maybe pressies from him. We don't usually bother buying presents for each other, as we get what we want or need all year round, but he has been asking questions, so will see.
I hope everyone had as good a Christmas as possible, I'm with you Gers, I find the New Year more difficult. Hugs to all who need them. Take care.15 -
Morning allDS came round yesterday for a buffet style lunch which I seemed to have got too much of so plenty of bits in the fridge to snack on today and tomorrow. Plenty of gammon left so will have gammon egg and chips for dinner tonight. Finished the day watching my footie team actually win a match so that made me happy!Nothing planned today but need some fresh veg from supermarket so might send DH out with a small list!My all time favourite film Some Like It Hot is on tv today so might record that and settle down to it later. Apart from that I just hope you all have good day xx14

Hi all
thanks to those that have already posted.Need to pop to the supermarket and then have family friends visiting overnight. No idea how I/we managed to almost run out of milk - I think there might be enough to squeeze for breakfast! No other plans - after the weekend I must start going to sleep earlier, several later nights in a row and I’m feeling very tired even when I wake up!Hope everyone has a quiet weekend

Morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x
We didn’t do much yesterday. Dropped DS1’s pooch home then tidied round. Leftovers for lunch and cheese/biscuits for tea. We also watched a few films and did the Big Quiz of the Year, competing against each other. DD won!
We are meeting MIL and FIL today at a NT property. We visited last month but the house was shut for decorating so will try again today.Fantastic of your delivery guy to do that @Gers x must be lovely to be home.Have a lovely day everyone

Morning All
I seem to have brought the good weather back with me, we had lovely sunny days but it was mighty cold with a wind that would cut you in two. A wonderful time was had by all, very relaxed with great food and celebrated DS2's birthday (Christmas Eve) with a meal out at an Afghan restaurant which was really good. Travel was all fine thank goodness and the little one was an absolute star - spent most of the time dancing about with two ribbons on sticks!
Pleased to hear you are home and settled Gers, hope it was all worth it.
Glad the little one has gone to Butlins feeling fine dp1.
Hoping you're feeling better today Ruby.
Hugs to those feeling poorly or sad.
I'm off out to do a bit of fresh food shopping then relaxing before going to friends for a get together. Take care. XX15 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. It feels blooming cold this morning and I expected to see a thick frost but there was nothing.
I sounds as if we all seemed to spend yesterday in the land of sloth and lethargy! I grazed all day and caught up with stuff I had recorded, apart from films, but no rush to watch those. I particularly enjoyed Call the Midwife, a bit different this time. I have decided to be a bit more productive today and certainly cut back on shovelling in copious amounts of sweet stuff. I have a lights wash load chugging away and then I need to sort out the fridge, getting some stuff in the freezer before it needs chucking. As well as most of the sweet stuff as I have no willpower! DS just rang to see if I needed any shopping but I certainly don't.
Have a lovely day if you can folks, with ((HUGS)) as always for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, be safe and keep warm. xx

Morning all, thanks for starting Gers- what a great delivery driver!DH and I did have a repeat of the turkey dinner last night, then I took the rest of the meat off.Just about the right size this year, enough bits to make another sandwich and soup, will do that later. Had a merry time at the match, met up with DB1 & fam,got introduced to DN new boyfriend too but DGS didn't come as he had a sore throat.DGD came but left before the end to do some spending of her Cmas money at the retail park, and we met her back at the car.She says she's not very interested in the football now so I'll prob not get her a season ticket next time but may retain the seat for DS1.Lazy day today I think, prob warm a lasagne and poss make a focaccia later, and give our friends a ring. Dog walking awaits.Take care everyone.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)12
