Hello all and happy Friday!!
Welcome @Spendless - good to see you here and well done on your first fiver deposit!
I took last year's total and moved it to another account paying a slightly (marginally) better rate. That account already had a balance of monies for 'fun' so it made sense to merge the two. I have bought a 10 class yoga pass with some of it plus a felting class for June.
My 2026 Fiver Friday account is now clear to start afresh for this year and my first fiver deposit went in today. Like @lastbigspender said, it's only the cost of a takeaway coffee a week, so doubt many of us will miss it.
Totals on page 1 updated to here.
Have a good week all

#2 starting off with £5 deposited into my account
Like some of you, I have moved last years savings, along with the interest, into our long term savings so I am starting afresh with the same intention of using the money for our Christmas food/drink shop.

I take it this is savings separate from the £5 Friday Challenge??Matron_Midge said:#2 starting off with £5 deposited into my account

Also what is the long term savings account and does it offer good interest??OD £2,500 cleared onto Money Transfer

Yes it’s a separate a/c that I had previously and I use it for this - I have a DD that pays in £5 every Friday.
As long as I keep £1 in it, it stays open for me todo as I wish.
If you mean were there a separate savings pot then no, I saved all year - £260 plus interest. I was going to use it for Christmas b it I didn’t need it so it stayed intact.
The a/c I use for LTS is a Yorkshire building society saver that gives instant access if required with no penalty. The downside is, for that convenience, the Interest rate is at 2.95%2 -
Please can I join this challenge?0

I have created a standing order to my Chase savings account for £5 starting on 9th January. There is currently £25.03 in that account, so I’ll leave that there as a starting point.0
