Morning folks. Thank you GERS I hope you are now on the road to recovery. It feels chilly here but some much needed sun is going to shine - or so they tell us!
I hope yesterday a good day was had by all. But so much illness about. Oh poor you RUBY, I hope the lurgy doesn't last long. My DF started like you, got worse and had to see Dr on Tuesday with chest infection. Now on abs but had to cancel Christmas. My throat feels odd and I keep having sneezing fits but my fingers are crossed that it doesn't get worse.
Yesterday morning started with a visit from DS and Molly dog, who thanked me for her Christmas blanket by doing a wee on the carpet!! Then lunchtime the 3 DGDs descended to keep me company until DD finished her shift at the hospice. Come 2.30 she duly arrived and it was then present opening time down at their house. As usual far too many and it took forever. Finally time for our Italian tea. Arancini and salad starter which was lovely. My Bolog Bake was well received for main but DD found the Orzo and Lentil bake all a bit tasteless. And it took a lot of faffing with. One not to be made again.
It was an earlier night than Tuesday as DD is doing a double shift today and needed an early night in readiness. I shall be having a lazy day after finding homes for my gifts. It will be pick and mix meals as no cooking planned, feet up watching stuff I recorded yesterday will follow.
Have a good day everyone if you can with ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, sad or lonely as usual. xx

What a busy though lovely day for your and your family @TA. Mine was much quieter, thank goodness! Four of us sat around much of the morning and late afternoon. There was some kitchen activity to keep us occupied and awake. The effects of the GA really hit me, so much yawning and tiredness almost overwhelmed me.Christmas lunch, after the King, was chicken and all the bits followed by home made tiramisu. Very tasty. Later we had cheese and biscuits and finally some Bendicks mint creams. I went to bed much earlier than the others and slept right through the night. Now I'm all packed and ready for the off. I'm also ready for my own bed, lovely as it is here!I hope that everyone either enjoyed or endured their day (it can so either way I know) and are ready to eat leftovers until New Year. Hugs to our poorlies and sads. 🥰13

Good morning, thanks Gers. Hope you are recovering.
We went to Dd's yesterday, her partners family were there, and a great day followed. We had a lovely lunch, I didn't eat anything for the rest of the day, but I'm hungry now.
It will be a quiet day today (I hope!).
Thoughts to the sad and poorly today. Take care folks.

Morning all
Hope everyone can slowly recover from yesterday. Good to hear you had company and enjoyed the day Gers, safe trip home.ScarletRibbons - I’m always starving after a previous day’s large meal!
It was relatively quiet here - dinner (orange and cranberry gammon joint) was lovely, easy to sort and clear up after. A relatively lengthy game of Monopoly (US National Parks version) also.Today is bright and cold again, thankfully not as windy as yesterday!Maybe a visitor later, and need to make up spare beds for visitors tomorrow
take care all

Good King Wenceslas looked out
On the Feast of Stephen
When the snow lay round about
Deep and crisp and even
Brightly shone the moon that night
Though the frost was cruel
When a poor man came in sight
Gathering winter fuel❄️🎀✨🎄☃️🎄✨🎀❄️
Good morning. Quiet day here yesterday eating and watching programmes, followed by a relatively early night. Off to OHs mums for a Boxing Day tea today, so no thought required for that
I hope the poorlies get well soon and everyone managed to get through unscathed yesterday....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi16 -

Morning all from a very dull and cold Mehefinland
Had a quiet morning yesterday and got as many of the horse chores done early - it was very dark even at 7am. A lovely lunch with my old friends and exchange of presents - she always goes over the top but as she once said, 'if I can't treat my friends, who can I?" Have learnt over the years to accept gratefully and in the manner in which it is made. DS rang early in the morning, but this year they were staying at home with just the two of them. After last years little contretemp, perhaps the lesson went home.. anyway we are in a much better place now , so move on...
Received an apology later after the hurtful things said earlier in the week ( it was the gin talking lol - and she had been roundly told off by her hubby for what she had said ) We are ok now - I felt that it was an alcohol influenced tirade so although I was rather taken aback at the time, I'm not one to hold grudges and a bit like DS , we have moved on.
Concerned I haven't seen my neighbour at all yesterday and I knocked on the door a few times. he is generally quite informative if he is going away, and I regularly house watch for him . Don't want to just barge in ( I have a key) so will try again today.
Beach litter pick this morning - it's going to be a cold one!! Local news are reporting on hundreds of Victorian shoes being washed up on the shores around here. Much conjecture on the origin, but the consensus is that they have come from a wreck - there are lots off the coast further West from me.. be interesting to see if any have made it as far as the beach I'm going to this morning.
Hugs and spoons as always - hope the poodles get better soon.

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers. Safe home later xx
We had a good day yesterday. DS1 and DD had breakfast and opened their gifts, then headed off to her sisters for lunch. We cooked the turkey and then went round to the pub for an hour, came back and cooked the veg. Ended up eating just after the Kings speech and DH promptly fell asleep straight after. Good job DD and DS2 are well trained in washing up and putting away!Today is a no bones day. We have plenty of food to eat up and nowhere to be although not sure if we need to drop DS1’s dog back.Sorry someone upset you @mehefin but pleased to hear they have apologised. How interesting about the shoes.Hugs @silver-oldie xx.Get well soon @RedRuby1231 xx.Have a good day all
