@Frugaldom - someone mentioned on the motorhome site I visit that they had stayed at your site and how great it is, particularly seeing the wild animals and birds. Hopefully you'll get a few more visitors from that posting. Unfortunately it's too far from us for a visit.

Club Lloyds bank accounts have other benefits than the magazines etc. Interest is paid on money in that current account.Only pennies of course, but those veg were only 4p each at Easter! However the interest rate is higher if you keep between 4&5k in it. Higher than some savings accounts in fact. I think over 5k it’s nothing, but not been there!
Also you can apply for a monthly saver which has a pretty high interest rate, though the amount you can deposit is restricted. And you can have a Lloyds ultra credit card which pays back 1% of your spends, even council tax, for one year.
This meteorological summer is rubbish at the moment, cold wet and windy.Been wearing two cardigans in the day time and a fire every evening. I fill two flasks with hot water heated on the wood burner each evening for the next days washing up.
Also made soup from some of the Easter veg.Only onion, gar lic and potatoes left now.
Made swede soup, which is a lot nicer than it sounds.
Minimum 3 onions(1p each at Easter)
1 small swede(4p)
2 or3 garlic cloves(2p) sauté all in a small glut of oil. Add stock, or in my case water the spinach was steamed over. Simmer and then blend.
4 portions for pennies.

hi everyone, I need to cut back on groceries which includes soap powder or pods. Can I ask which cheaper brands people find effective? I don’t have children to wash for , just me. I’ve heard people make their own too.

Forgot to ask, how much do people think a food budget for one adult on average would be? I don’t buy any processed food. No bread or potatoes either. It’s mainly fish, eggs, meat, cheese yoghurt , nuts etc

I buy the Daz big box which approx £10 last around 6 months. That is with washing 2 of us, household plus dog bedding.
My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 27). Hubby also a found daughter (38).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (12 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
So we’re empty nesters.
Daughter married with 3 boys (13, 10 & 6).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman3 -

I use the Lidl bio liquid wash as it's something I don't get a reaction from and it's the only thing I find gets the ground in mud out of my socks after gardening. 🤣 The perfumes or some other additive in the main brands set me off itching big time. 85 wash/3L was £4.19 at the beginning of May
I tried the laundry goop but I found it didn't wash as well and over time the whites became grey even though I was using green bleach. It also kept setting in the bottle. I know other people swear by it, but it didn't work for me. 😞

Thanks@dND, I wouldnt even know how to start making laundry gloop and tbf I would probably mess it up anyway. I've been using the lidl Formil one too but I always end up putting more than double in and have always preferred powder for some reason. I cant get to a Tesco to buy one so I just ordered a one from amazon, 75 washes for a tenner. I don't have room to store a bigger one in my kitchen anyway and for me, it will last longer than the lidl one.
