It's shocking how they can have different prices for different areas. Rural life definitely costs much more than town life when it comes to shopping. We sat in the same place, friend looked up Asda at same time as I did for same item and we got 2 different results. She sent me the link to the £2.50 lentils and when I tried to open it from my postcode, it simply blocked it and said not available.

@Finstickle it's helpful to get it all down sometimes and then try to split it down into smaller chunks.

We had a good look at electric last year as it seems to be high, so much so that we contacted supplier to query it. We borrowed a plug in monitor and used it around the house to try and get a feeling for where it could be. We didn't find anything particularly startling but our bills got back to normal maybe just that we were thinking about it more. I now take a photo weekly and just keep an eye on it in a spreadsheet.

Memories for children are so important but look out for free events that may be happening, we are really lucky locally. Time spent with them will be their enduring memory. We always have drinks and snacks from home when we are out but it can be difficult when it's such horrid weather.

Keep at it and just take it one area at a time, it gets easier the longer you do it. Good luck!

My mum ended up passing away yesterday, I am going to try and keep to budget but honestly I believe the next two months will be rocky and may go seriously out of the window. To try and help I have just renewed my internet to be slightly cheaper and my mobile £2 cheaper. I can not remember how much cheaper the internet is.

just on lentil theme, as GF and no ‘may contains’ does anyone know the whereabouts of gf lentils apart from Marks and Spencer (which are very expensive)? Have never found any in my local Tesco (miles away).

People have said Asian shops but from abroad and labelling is hit and miss - how do they manage to have lentils that are not contaminated - I have trust issues :)

On the broadband subject.

I was recently informed it will be raising for us from £35 to £46 a month! Obviously I was not happy with that and long story short, after time consuming haggling on the chat, they offered me £25 per month! Which is obviously cheaper to what we paid so far! It just makes one realise how much they earn if they can offer that kind of reduction 😶😶😶
